Oh man it’s gone down again? Glad we have this place anyway. I’m so rarely over there these days.
Yeah i try to stay on all the forums to have conversations on different topics. Plus that was my go to for sending the pics that iris sends me.

I don’t think you understand my point, but I completely understand Wor Gars.

Mine wasn’t that I want this super limited and I also understand what you said about this being a lot to shell out without seeing the proto.

However what about the people that DID put up $150 blindly and months ago?
‘THIS’ as you said is a perfect situation, for YOU. :)

Anyway, said my peace. Luis; thanks for your understanding and response I do fully understand and appreciate it.
Wor Gar; completely get it too and I agree it is fair for this to be open for all and also open until proto shown, just wish that I had known that at the start. Not that I would not be paying anyways as I know this will be fantastic, just that I would have had more flexibility when to pay which would have been helpful at the time.

But I also understand that this was perhaps not best communicated from IRIS.

Anywhoo, sorry for the essay and let’s bring on the proto. :)

I am also in the same situation as you, Cap'n Cook. I paid up when I was told to and I was also a little annoyed to see that there actually wasn't the desperate rush to get payments in that we originally thought there was (especially if we thought we were fighting over just 15 sets in the beginning!!!).

My viewpoint on it is slightly different - would Iris have started ANY work on this project (sourcing materials, drawing up patterns, etc..) without any money paid to her up-front?! My assumption is that she wanted/needed 15 of us to commit "blindly" so that she had $2250 in the bank to go out and start this project. A tailor is unlikely to go as far as making a full prototype outfit without any money up-front (just in case it sucks and no-one decides to buy it!!), so unfortunately any project of this nature is always going to need a certain number of people, such as ourselves, to be the guinea pigs in the experiment, and take a leap of faith with our wallets!! I'm not saying this is right or wrong, it's just the reality of the situation.

Anyway, I fully expect this set to be AWESOME, and I have no regrets about putting down my deposit early. Like Mr E said, I believe this is going to go crazy on the secondary market and be changing hands for $600 a set, if anyone ever decides to let their's go! Can't wait to see the first prototype photos!!! :)

Do we know what the pants will be made out of ? Indy's pants were wool I believe and all the retail versions have been a cotton that creases like a son of a *****! Kato uses wool I think but they are super expensive.

This is very true, no two ways about it. And I've been on both sides of the experimental fence.

Hopefully, in a perfect world, the people who invest the start-up costs to get the project going are the same people who want/need the project no matter what, so their money is certainly not in vain. It is used to make the project happen. The later additions as it were (pending proto) simply make the project potentially more profitable to the tailor, which does help keep the tailor interested and on point on the project and interested in future projects as well. Theoretically, not that Iris would do this, but you can see where if a project is limited and already half funded with non-refundable payments that the motivation to really out-do yourself could be somewhat diluted.

Anyway, I do hope not too many people are steamed about this. Likely going to have a great Indiana Jones outfit at the end of the day, so there's always that -- which ultimately is the goal.

Same here. Even if there wasn't a real rush, I still would have wanted to secure my spot early on and not risk missing out. Since these Indy runs don't come along all that often and it may be quite awhile until the next one.

Ok so there is 33 people who made payments. Iris has actually set the limit officially to 40 sets. Edit: sorry iris made a mistake to the number of people the limit stays the same however.

Ughh, Ok, honestly I'm not 100% comfortable with paying such a large amount of money without seeing a proto type but people seem comfortable that it will be amazing so I pulled the trigger so to speak:

Order number: 0PM925540Y936583R

I'd like a holster also please

Did you follow the instructions and sent iris payment. You have to send her $30 for the holster.

I sent the deposit to [email protected] as in the first post but wasn't aware the holster needed to be paid up front also

edit: Holster paid also: Order number: 8KG64881FW2378014

Just to let everyone know we are on 35 people. The others went through facebook i believe, so there is only 5 more spots left.

I apologize, because I'm sure it's posted somewhere on these pages and I must have overlooked it, but is the plan for the jacket to be real leather or simulated?

I wanted to see if their was an option for real leather but turns out the swatches she gathered were a little to thick. So we are going with synthetic leather. Plus Iris knows how to pick them out and i already gave her reference for the color.

So there is still a few spots available for this?

Also is the shipping fee to be paid with the deposit or is it just the $150USD that needs to be sent?
