Hello everyone,

It's Tatiana from Striped Box, the shoemaker.

Due to questions and circumstances, want to inform you about two things, time and price.

First, time. I can start working on prototype only in Spring 2018 (March-April). At the moment I'm continuing to work on Red Wing boots and will be until the end of February 2018.

Second, price.
I have to increase the price and unfortunately much, to approx 450 USD per one pair.
Want to explain my reasons, there are two:
1) making a single pair takes me much more time and other resources (materials, tools, 3d-printing, soles casting) than I expected;
2) there are too many people who are interested in my works, but I just don't have time to produce things so fast.

I understand that it's totally different, I'm very sorry I misled you.
I don't mind people may refuse to order. But I'm going to make a prototype in any case.
Hoping for your understanding and thank you for your attention.

Regards,
Tatiana (Striped Box)

Done business with her she’s good and I don’t blame her for charging whatever she wa to and doesn’t care about the profit she could gain. Not worth the effort for the time it takes. I get it.

But to be clear she’s basically saying she’s not doing this project unless someone wants to pay her to make it worth her while.

450 for boots is indeed ridiculous.but if you got cash to burn it’s anyones call.

So, it looks like we need to find someone to sculpt the boots. Being that many of us sold our RM Torrance, we now have the Yh Ha sculpt with the new clothes and no boots.

I'm used to shelling out the cash for outfit runs and all, but no way can I justify $450 for a pair of boots. That's in no way knocking the artist or the work. I'm a commission painter. I get it. It needs to be worth your while when so much is put into something so small. Something very small doesn't mean a small effort by any means. But with that said, besides the prospect of a good sculpted pair, there are viable options that would look great repainted, like the Craftone boots. They're the current placeholder on mine, and I really don't mind them at all. Still super curious to see this prototype. It would definitely be worth it if it was a drop in the bucket for you.

these redwing boots are amazing, she is doing great work no doubt. but i m not sure if i will be getting that for 450$. i must really like my painted sculpt to spend this amount.

Even at $450, is that based in a minimum order, or made to order? Although the workmanship on the McMurphy boots are absolutely outstanding, this is a 300% cost increase and most of us cannot justify spending that amount.

I have not seen any Craftone boots sold separately, is it going to be necessary to buy the full figure just to get the boots? I'm curious how many were originally in on this, but will back out at the price increase. Best route seems to be sculpted boots.

I sent a PM to all those who are on the 1st page list. I am in the process of having another member do these for us.

I have had 7 people respond so far, so including myself, we have 8. Hopefully everyone else responds and we can get this in motion.

So far we have 12 that are in for the new boots, hope to hear from the others soon.

Since Andy is finishing up with the Forrest Gump items, our boots will be started next. Thread will be updated regularly.
