. Here's my first attempt at Luke, only my third head paint, and I'm no where near happy with my results, but I'll throw it up on here for you guys to critique before I strip him back.
I've just purchased an iwata airbrush, so that'll be the next attempt.

You should post some close ups of the head. The skin tone looks good - and respect is due to you for attempting this at all! I've tried repainting heads before and I'd have been better off setting fire to some money.

Know that feeling all to well!

Yeah, skin tone looks nice. Maybe something off in eyes? can't tell. Hair needs to be lighter.

Critique is from someone who's never attempted this, so.... :)

Sorry about the picture quality, I have a proper camera, but I've never got round to actually learning the settings on it.
The sculpt is now stripped back to resin for the next attempt lol.

Skin tone looks really nice, and if I'd attempted to paint on Hamill's moles it would have made his face look like a picture out of my kid's Star Wars dot to dot book. You just needed to work on the eyes as far as I can see, they're a tiny bit too large.

Cheers for the feedback Tom, I'm pretty rubbish at eyes as my own aren't up to the task of seeing that small a detail lol.
The size of them were definitely too big, that was due to trying to round them off better and only really adding to the overall dimensions.

Eyes are the hardest. Get decals instead. Hunter sells them.

I'll maybe try decals, but ideally I'd like to learn how to perfect painting them.
I've only painted 3 sculpts so far and the difference from the first one to this one is night and day, so I know I'm improving, learning all the time about techniques, and colours.
I'll hang on in at the painting for a while and see if I improve, failing that I'll go the decals route.

If it was me, I would get decals, or print out eyes the right size, stick them to a spare sculpt or a suitably curved surface and paint over the top to practise.

There's also a few videos online about painting eyes.

There's no shame in decals, even the top painters like Jnix use them (for speed, I assume), but I'd want to try to paint them too.

Good luck! Looks great so far :duff
