It's a really wonderful paint job and sculpt which shows what a upgrade in both sculpt and paint this is! something looks a bit odd and cartoonish somehow. I think it's because his pupils are s little too big, he needs them to not touch the top and bottom lid I think. More space on the bottom would help it be perfect IMO.

Beautiful work as usual Mike, your hair and skin tones are right on the button mate.
I just got my new airbrush today, so I'm looking forward to experimenting on a cheap sculpt to see what I can produce, before I tackle the Luke head again, but if can achieve half your results I'll be happy.

The eyes are a tough one on this sculpt Raymond, theyre so wide open it's hard to not make the iris too big, too small and the eyes just look floaty.

does an air brush really make a noticeable difference in paint quality vs using bristle brushes? I've been using actual brushes forever but if it makes for a more realistic skin tone, etc, then I may have to learn something new :lol

As with anything, it depends on who's doing it. But generally, airbrush results seem to be a bit more realistic across the board.

I'm a brush user too Gip, and I've only really had about two hours use of the airbrush tonight, just dabbling and experimenting with tones and layers.
But one thing I've noticed immediately is how fine a coat it can apply, and I mean ridiculously thin, and it's so uniform and even I'm shocked.
I doubt I'll ever get to Hydeous or Jacob Raimers standard, but I can see why in the right hands airbrushes are so amazing at what they do.

Thanks, Ray. I agree that the pupil does look a bit too large and it feels a bit cartoony. But im worried that if I make them any smaller, they will feel dead and soulless. :panic:

But I'll try to see and rework on it again later tonight. As always, thanks for the constructive criticism and compliments, fellas :rock

Love the work everyone has done so far - congrats gents!

I must admit though, the eyes on all of them look too big :monkey3
