You know, it really is a tremendous sculpt. There's no question that the eye treatment is the challenge. The good news is that the Jnix paint up seems to have it just right:

Jnix's paint up looks fantastic, I'm still just not sure on this one. It's certainly closer than the HT, but something about it still says 1970s HS quarterback to me. Farmboy Luke seems like it's tough to get right. I do think Hot Toys nailed ESB Luke and Inigou has a great RotJ Luke coming. I guess I'll know better once in hand.

Got one of my heads painted up by Paul Prentice, and he did a really great job! Looks great on either body though the hole in the head is meant for the wider farmboy neck not the Stormtrooper figure.

I loved Jnix's Han sculpt more than I can say but I just can't see Luke in this.

The large eyes and the open month make it a VERY difficult needle to thread in terms of creating a paint app that conveys the correct expression for Luke and maintain the likeness. I think SilentSurfer nailed it, and the Jnix pain app (from what we've seen of the final treatment) appears to have done a great job too, but its becoming increasing difficult to think that we're going to get a Han Solo level sculpt out of this one. Not because this Luke is anything other than great, but because Han may be the best SW custom sculpt we've ever seen.

No doubt Han is jaw-dropping, but I think everyone will be blown-away when they get Jnix's painted one in-hand.

I have to say, though, not a particularly encouraging development that even this small number of people who bought the unpainted sculpts are trying to release them...
