Thanks TonTon! For me Jnix has taken the edge of any disappointment I had around Hot Toys' likenesses. They're not perfect, but nothing sculpted by hand is ever going to be. But I'm really, really happy with these.

Yep. Clearly some people just have money to burn and will buy anything that's slightly better than the Hot Toys sculpt, even though it still doesn't look very much like the actor or actress that played the character. It's a good Obi Wan, but it's not a good Alec Guinness.

It's not about having money to burn... the sculpt is phenominal... i brought it, painted... no questions asked... i thought the Luke one was awful... looks nothing like him and no paint can save it (that is my opinion)... i don't return to that thread saying how bad i think it is.. i have moved on... maybe some of you should too... whining because you didn't get your own way...

So don't buy it, you don't need to go on about how you would have purchased it. You can have your standards but if the sculpt doesn't work for you, then move along at some point. Don't need to keep harping on it when it's finished and produced.

As for the obi sculpt, yes it's pretty good, but with just a couple of tweaks it could have been amazing, and although that opinion was voiced by a few members, It was completely ignored by Jnix, and probably to some financial detriment in sales, and that doesn't hurt me, it only hurts Jnix.
The Jnix Han sculpt was for all purposes, perfect, that probably made him around 25 thousand.
Would it not make sense to actually take onboard some critique and revise the sculpt if the gains could be massive?
That was the point i was trying to make, I'm not salty, and I'm not taking a pop at anyone who bought it.

Yes totally get that... but this is why i usually stay quiet... i can't be bothered with it all... maybe it would have been in his interest in the eyes of others to tweak it slighlty... but he chose not to... and enough people brought it that were more than satisfied...

The force is strong with this one...

The first Luke was miles off... the tweaks helped it a lot.

Obi Wan was not miles off, the paint is killing the likeness. There were like 30 people complaining about Luke and three abut Obi Wan... thats why he never amended. Had it been a real issue he would have.

I also guarantee if Han was shown now and he started with Obi Wan there would be endless nitpicks too and not too much about Obi Wan.

Bar was raised.
