Just sayin, I would love a website that was like an "Artist Co-Op", like imagine a farmer's market but with headsculpts and whatnot.
Like a sculptor sent the sculpt in to the co-op, and the co-op managed the casting and order fulfillment process.
Sculptors would get a cut of each sale, naturally. But they wouldn't have to bother with Interest Lists or demand and whatnot. Theoretically you would eliminate the root cause of recasts as the co-op would keep casts on hand, or at least on a pre-order status, so they'd be available for order for a prolonged period of time. . . in any case, it would be a business person managing that, not the artist.
My only worry is that eventually such a site would anger the studio gods and they would strike it down with a great and furious C&D. But, if a person was shrewd, I think it could be done without raising the ire of the powers that be.
