with how poorly it performed in the box office, Id still highly doubt anyone takes this on if no 1/6 company has touched the original film yet. the very silly few (myself included) willing to shell out that cash for the k outfit isn't really an accurate measure for official companies. I hope Im wrong though!

People willing to shell out large amounts of money for custom figures is a very accurate gage of interest and or profit for companies. Box office performance doesn't seem nearly as relevant. I've always heard that there are licensing issues with the first film, so I doubt it has to do with the lack of BR fans. Since 2049 was basically made to cater to Just that (and the licensing seems to be easier to obtain)I'm sure we'll see official figures at some point regardless of how it performed at the box office.

I don’t know about that. There are plenty of people willing to drop even more on figures from Exorcist, Dexter, There Will Be Blood, and No Country For Old Men but I don’t think there will ever be official 1/6 figures. Sure, BR2049 may be slightly more toyetic, but I don’t think companies use customs as a gage for interest. Hell, Hot Toys would have given us a few Logan’s and X-23’s from Logan if that were true.

People like Blade runner, that's my point. There wouldn't even be a sequel if it wasn't for fans of the original. People have been begging HT or sideshow to make a 1/6 Deckard for years now. It's not that those companies are uninterested, it's that there's some sort of licensing issues where as there doesn't appear to be any for 2049. There's a lot of smaller 1/6 companies that may take a chance, who knows.

A necklaces headsculpt would be great to be able to use it with a body that does not leave the neck joint visible

Seems a bit unnecessary. Sure Jnix knows the demand is there but he already has a lot of sculpts lined up.
