I don't see it that way at all.

I see it as more options for the customer. Everyone has had their hand at Indy and Joker and there was two Deckard heads going at the same time recently with two great results. The beauty of the hobby is allowing different artists to create works for our collections.

The demand is there, this won't curb purchases from the guys eager to have you take a crack at it Scott.

I for one would like to see even more artists take a shot at officer K.

I do believe this is a property with so much interest that people (myself included) would want to look at multiple options for. I personally own two of your blade runner figures Scott, there is no debating you are one of the very best in the industry, and I cant wait to see your version of K as well!

Yes, you are absolutely right it is really great for collectors!
But with all due respect, from the sculptor's perspective it is hardly beneficial; especially if sculpting is your primary means of survival.

This is a relatively small community. It’s not like we are selling 1000’s of these things. It’s niche.
The point is: Why would you spend countless hours creating something if you know it’s chances of selling are cut short because there is a duplicate project happening at the exact same time?

From my experience there is unspoken (and spoken!) respect and etiquette amongst fellow artists here. I’m pretty sure most would agree and know what I mean. Avoiding overlapping projects keeps things fresh. Without that the community feels a bit fractured.

Sure, duplicates or variations of your favorite character are great! But at the same time? Not so much.

I’m not telling anyone what to do.
It is what it is and people will do what they want.
I’m just stating the facts of my experience.
