Hello guys,

I gauging interest to see if there are enough members of the boards willing to purchase a Kato suit for the upcoming Patrick Bateman release from Iminime BEFORE approaching Kato formally for this project (iminime thread HERE.) He's told me he is VERY busy with new projects but its worth asking about it. TO REITERATE: THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED I have no idea what the price would be but estimate ~$550-$600 with another $250 for an overcoat. He will likely ask for a nonrefundable deposit.

The IDEA IS NOT TO HURT DENNY'S SALES. So the suit upgrade will ONLY be available to fullset or DX set purchasers. And because Kato usually uses the final sculpt to tailor it will be awhile before this project is even begun as he will probably need the sculpt in hand. THIS IS ALL SPECULATION but I want to make sure Denny and Iminime are protected as well. They cannot lose any business as a result of this project. (IN fact the DX fullset is perfect as you will have TWO patrick bateman figures--SO BUY IMINIME'S DX SET!)

SO if you are interested, please write Kato in this thread just how much you would like to see him make a set of clothing for your favorite American Psycho.

Now that's the right way to do it :hi5:

I'm in for this and I'm hoping that I'll be a little less than some of the other suits seeing how it's not three piece.

A big thing that I feel Iminime left out were the suspenders (ignore the notes. These were reference shots with foot notes that I gave Denny in the early stages of Wall Street Killer):

I know that this is something that Kato can do of course to perfection. And I'd hope that he could offer extra ties to so I can replace my Iminime one.

I don't particularly want to spend $350 for Iminimes figure, only to pay over $600 to replace the suit. Even if this happens, I'm out.

Sorry man, have to protect Denny. Besides there's no guarantee this would happen so you would buying the headsculpt without any idea of the success of this PLUS you'd have no accessories.

I really think this is an extreme option here.. and somewhere Im finally drawing the line when it comes to expensive customs and being so carefree with money

the iminime suit really can be tweaked in small ways and end up being a top tier 1/6 suit. blowing another 600 is not the answer here IMO, contructive criticism and helping iminime achieve a better product is, we all know how much they listen and value our input.

I think this is simply more of a personal choice. I always wanted a great Bateman figure and I always wanted it on a Kato suit. This would be my first Kato suit purchase and I hope it gets made. Iminime complete package is excellent, I think this interest is for those who would like to see Kato continue has great catalog of 1:6 suits. Joker, Wayne, Draper.

It simply would take too long and would not be cost effective for Denny and Team to try and produce these suits at this level. I'm also sure that Denny would not mind having a colleague offer up his services to help out customers who are very particular. It's good business all around.

I really hope this isn't taken the wrong way, but I am genuinely interested in why a 1:6 scale custom suit would cost that much. A high quality tailored 1:1 suit would cost less. I understand Kato is highly talented and his work is limited, but contrast that with the cost of materials, and it just doesn't add up.

I don't mean to hijack your thread Wake, and I wish you the best with this project, but I think it's an issue for a lot of people :)

Well actually, not all suits are the same. Aside from the fact that materials are major factor in 1:1 suits, a very good suit would cost you atleast $1200-$1500 dollars and that's off the peg. Now a Bespoke suit or tailor-made on average start at $5000 dollars with a Saville Row costing anywhere in the 20 to 30 thousand dollar range. So there are many different dimensions to suits.

As for 1:6. This can be considered a 1:6 Bespoke suit. Where essentially commissioning him for his talents and asking him to create us a particular style of suit for a toy (which can't be easy), so he would have to develop a whole new pattern and figure out a way to cut it so that it looks as accurate as possible to 1:1

Suit making in this scale is the one area where a specific skill set and talent is much rarer than even great sculptors. You just don't see too many good 1:6 suit makers. I can only name two...Kato and Lupita Santos (Beetlejuice 80's cut heavy pinstripe :drool). I think for what where asking these individuals deserved to be compensated because it really requires a specific kind of skill and talent.

That's fair enough, I appreciate the explanation :)

Yea no joke I just bought a Hugo boss suit last summer so i had at least 1 well tailored suit for the 3 times a year i wear suits.

When it comes to high end suits im sure this qaulifyes as entry level and it cost me 1500$ Im sure its harder to make a suit in this scale!

I am totally in!!! Please. I am making a Patrick Bateman custom figure and I need a coat and a raincoat!

I'm interested. Would be a nice way to display the two figures (and head sculpts), one with the Kato suit, the other with the raincoat.
