1/28/13 Update: Revised prints received!

Unpainted 3 piece print price: $80
Max fees for painting: Estimated in the $60-$70 range

Please read carefully. I tend to get a lot of questions on projects I have already addressed in the outline. Take the time to read the information below before asking :)

- A minimum of 5 kits have to be ordered and paid in full for this to even happen
- Once the minimum quantity has paid the full kit price, I will order the prints of the urn (3 pieces) plus one prototype for myself.
- Once I receive all prints, anyone who ONLY wants unpainted versions will ship right away.
- Anyone else wanting theirs painted, or are considering to have theirs painted will get shipped to Max
- Max will paint one prototype to show me. I will post photos of this and based on what people think, they can send Max's fee to me via Paypal, and I will send one western union payment to them upon completion of the work. Anyone who changes their mind on having it painted will send no additional finds, but will have to wait until the paint order is completed, shipped back to me and then shipped to you.
- They are estimating this to be in the $60-$70 range for painting. Final price will be determined upon completion of prototype.
- If you considered painting, and then change your mind, the unpainted is still yours, I cannot refund your order based on this.
Going this route all orders would get an unpainted version essentially, with an option to paint it for the extra fee based on photos.
- Once I place the order at the printer, it takes 10-12 days to receive in-hand product. Please do not ask me 4 days into this period what the status is :)
- Shipping to Max could take a few weeks, and then their painting timeline is their own.

All in all there is a lot of down time with shipping but as you guys see with my slide box project Max just finished, I feel the wait is worth it.
This has happened more times than I can count on the slide box project...if you are considering getting one of these, subscribe to the thread and stay updated. Once orders have been placed there is no adding onto the order, and with a smaller interested list, I doubt there would be a second run in the future.

Hey guys,

With the success of my Slide Box V1 (and possible) v2 on the way, I decided to re-visit my trinity urn project I started last year, I did some reworking of the model, and this is about 95% of the way there.

Before I go much further I wanted to see what kind of general interest there is in having these made. I know it depends on the price, but I'm still looking into that, just trying to test the waters.

What you would get is a 3 piece setup, base/urn/lid, and the urn itself has a hollowed out cavity.

What I will not be able to do is paint these, I was looking for someone to team up with for this part, so PM me if this is possibly you.

If you have genuine interest in having this completed and added to your Dex collection, let me know and I'll start a working list.

1-16-13: Tweaked and Revised Model sent out for a new prototype:

First prototype photo: They got the scale mixed up (body of urn is scaled too small for base and lid is too large) so I'm working that out with the printer, but this gives you a general idea of the detail and quality. The cavity in the model is pretty deep and the idea is to offer "ashes" with the orders to put into the urn.

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

I'd honestly would prefer to find the pattern of the flowers and have water decals made, but painting seems like the more practical option.

This would be the perfect accessory for those bashing Trinity figures. I just finished Dexter season 4 this weekend; just as good as season 1. Cliffhangers the whole season; loved every episode.

Started season 5 immediately after 4. Glad I've finally had the time to sit down and watch it.

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

Water decals would be awesome. Probably more accurate than a paint job no?

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

Well paint that small, has the potential of being raised too high/thick, not to mention being able to paint detail like flowers that small, but with the talent we have here, you never know, someone here might knock our socks off!

I think if we had, or found a digital file of that floral pattern, and could source water decals it would look very, very cool, but that's a lot of "if's"

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

I know its hard for people to jump in until they see something more real, so I plan on getting a sample print made. I'm checking into some options because I know one of the printers I use offers a material that's almost like a faux porcelain, very glassy and smooth. This would be PERFECT for the lid and body, if it can be done.

Stay tuned.

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

interest, yes -- but it depends on approximate price and time frame, though, as i have joined the interest list for the wood box.

cheers for the offer!

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

@Robbie, I explored that route, even did some flat UV maps to see how to go about graphically designing the water decals.

If no painters step up, I have a backup plan I will be trying and seeing how it works, so keep your fingers crossed!

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

This project is still moving forward, when I order the 2.0 slide boxes, I'll be ordering some test prints of this to show. Subscribe and stay tuned!

Re: 1/6 Scale Trinity Urn (Miami)

This project is not dead! :)

I finally got around to opening the test print that I ordered, the quality is stunning! For some reason they scaled the lid too large, and I need to scale the entire thing up overall just a bit as well.

So the project is still very much in the works. As it stands right now it will be 3 pieces, the lid, the body and the base. Also I plan on having "ashes" in the urn as well since the body has a cavity that I designed in.

I'm going to check with Max to see if he is interested in painting any of these, so stay tuned!
