Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

These are all just to give an idea of the EXTREME labor that is gonna need to be done on Darkness if its gonna be done right.

Additional materials are gonna need to be made for the cod, "belt" area , shoulders padding area, and all the beads, jewels and ropes.

Also, the fur legs. Sculpted? Fur added to pants? Lower leg will be sculpted for sure, but there is exposed areas through out the rest of the leg that will need to be addressed. That is a major concern.

Before we jump full into this there is a shart load of planning and decisions that will need to be addressed.

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

And here is what Galactiboy was talking about, the proto pants where much better and the sword was painted more accurately.

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

Also anyone has this PF in Los Angeles California? We can go for a visit? I'll be honest, if everyone is very serious, Crystal n I would not mind to go all out with this. The more We look at it, the more we want to get our hands on n do this right. We see lots of possibility, but also lots of time. We need everyone's support on this, the actual PF, or books, any resources is fine. The more information n picture we get, the more chances of making this into 1/6 reality will be possible.

We are excited, but be patient, this might just be another project of the century once again!

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

Oh, I missed out on this amazing project. Can you please put me on the waiting list. Thanks

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

I didn't know his outfit was so detailed until you posted those PF shots, then I looked at my Mcfarlane figure and saw how detailed it was...now I'm going back to rewatch the movie tonight...this figure is going to be SWEET, so glad I stumbled upon this thread when I did!

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

Great pics King... I think you provided all that can be gleaned from the PF.

It was pretty messed-up that Sideshow bragged about how accurate and detailed the outfit was they the completely lowered the quality on the finished product.

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

ok oscar gave me a little update and he said he wanted to just do hooved feet. he feels that alot of body mods will need to be done if he went higher. guys let me know what you think of this? And what you guys want i will try to make it happen. input is what we need. i think their should be no rush so we can get it right and were all happy. i also told oscar to look at all the ref pics so he gets a good idea of the feet and legs.

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

Having only the hoof would be basically a wasted effort.

I don't wanna be a downer here, but one reason I never even entertained the thought of doing a custom Darkness is because I thought, and partially still do, that there is just to much work involved in making an accurate custom.

What I don't wanna do here is get knee deep in a custom group project that never comes to an end. I've been there and done that and I do not wanna do it again. A big project like this getting spread out over a few artists seems like a head ache in the making.

I'm not bailing on a project in its infancy, but I think a lot, and I mean A LOT, of planning and coordinated effort needs to be done here. I'm not sure the best way to go about accomplishing that though.

The best way I can think, one complete Darkness needs to be made and shown before a group project gets underway. The only way to accomplish that though would be for the OP to foot the bill for a complete work up and the recoup the costs after the fact. Probably not the ideal scenario for the OP though :dunno

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

you do mention great points of reason....so we would need added sculpted parts of legs that are able to retain articulation and THEN get a tailor to accurately make the outfit.....it does sound like a lot....and you are right about spreading this out.....if i could get the HS and the clothing...i think i would manage the rest....

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

It all depends on how accurate people really want this to be.

The most accurate would need:

Head sculpt, possibly with a sculpted neck and shoulder area.

Sculpted hoof and lower leg to the first joint.

Sculpted sword

Sculpted unicorn horn.

I would prefer sculpted hands, holding both. There are really no hands on the market to approximate Darkness' hands. Maybe some HT pred hands could work.

And the costume. There is a plethora of work that needs to be done there. That alone will be $$$ if done right.

Then there is still the issue of how to handle the fur legs.

And a body needs to be chosen. One everyone agrees with and has access to because all the sculpted parts will need to be in scale with the body.

There is probably more work that hasn't even come up yet.

This is a hell of a lot more work than just sculpting a head and some feet.

Just sayin'.

i agree you have some good points. the body i think should be the aci andrew body. what do you think about that body? and if i can get him to make the hoof and lower leg to the first joint. would it matter if their is no articulation in the ankle. but you have it at the knee?

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

i think that darkness is bigger and would I opt for the KP 02 muscle body which would be the one that is about to be made which also goes with the scale and size of say the pred hands....

the only thing i would say might be hard to pull of would be the shoulders...

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

Hey guys, is good to know that you like the project of legend, like me. Will be a challenge, but I hope that you stay pleased with my work. It's a good character, it is worthy of collection.
The film is old, but it brings back many memories, isn´t it?
I am to solve any kind of doubt.

Re: legend (lord darkness) (list full!)(update page 1)

ok fellas i have another update for you guys i've talked to oscar about the legs and he's willing to sculpt the legs, not just the feet. the only body he has is the hot toys tt-m 19 body for a reference.so please lets agree on a body so i can get him the body he needs to start his sculpting.if we go with the andrew aci body i will send it to him. on a side note he said the price would go up 10 bucks more, but i think that's not bad if he's doing the legs. please lets agree on a body so we get one priority out of the way. oscar informed me once we choose a body and he starts work on the legs he will make them moveable.so they will have articulation but i'm not sure how much yet. thanks, luis

I think an increase is fair for the legs to be done right... but as King has pointed out this is a very large undertaking and I too don't want to invest a lot of $$$ in something that won't be top-notch in the end.
