Re: "The hero of time" from Legend of Zelda

I was looking at Tony's stuff. I think he would be the guy to talk to! I'll shoot him a PM and see what he says.

Re: "The hero of time" from Legend of Zelda

Tony seems excited to work on this. However he did say we should settle on a body type and size.

I say in interest of keeping cost down and those of us who don't have the time or ability to mod a body, we go with a TT slim. Its a bit shorter and seems like a good build for Link. I've seen a few people mention this. Would anyone else like to give input?

Yeah I agree to go with the slim , its seems like the best size to go with

Re: "The hero of time" from Legend of Zelda

Are the slim bodies easy to find ?

Are we getting the sword and shield made also ?

You would need either a TTM09 or TTM22 body type. The TTM09 can be found on ebay at an inflated price ($70-100) but the TTM22 is on pre-order most places for $50. The only caveat is whether or not the new slim body is the same as the old body or if they made it taller as most places listed it and the advanced as 28 cm high.

Re: "The hero of time" from Legend of Zelda

So I think I've added everyone that has shown some interest. I've also changed the picture to a TP Link since that seems to be the one most of us like the most.

I can start talking to the leather worker tonight and see what his prices will be. He did holsters for us for the Max Payne project and IMO they came out great. I'll also start tinkering with the sword and sheild.

Next big step is someone for the clothes and a sculptor. What do you guys think?

Please add me to your interest list as well.

What all leather equipment/accessories are you going to shoot for? The belts and harness are given but are you going to try and do the boots, bracer, or pouches as well?

Re: "The hero of time" from Legend of Zelda

Yeh I've sent photos and asked what he can do and the prices. I mentioned all that in the above post. I'm also tinkering with the sword and sheild tonight.

Wont be fully commented till I see the head sculpt.I know the clothes are going to turn out great.

Wow we got an all star sculptor and it is Twilight Princess Link so this project is like a dream come true for me. Can't wait to see how this one goes. My favorite Zelda character is Midna so maybe one day I'll luck out and someone does her adult form. I'm hoping F4F does a PF of that, but I somewhat doubt they will.

Cheungkinmen will do an awesome headsculpt!!!!....please buddy...knock it out the park!!!!...:)

The best thing is that he also provides a painted version, of which is professionally painted. I'm not a fan of commissioning a paintjob on the side and the only way I'll buy custom head sculpts these days is if they are already painted. It's nice to see someone who offers the service.

Right now I'm trying my hand at the sword, shield, and scabbard. I'll have some progress pictures soon. If I totally fail, a 3d print may be the way to go. Anyone know the standard price on those?

Also right now we are discussing a cloth hat that will be attached to the head. What do you guys think of a thin wire in the hat to allow it to be posed too? Also speaking with Cheungkinmen, he made the observation that link has a thin neck. Right now we are talking about having a sculpted neck to fit the TT slim body. This way we wont have to fumble around with a custom sized neck adapter. Thoughts?

I have a good 3d sculpter in mind, if he is up for it. And they would probably run something like 15-30 USD for each piece, depending on complexity.

Think a thin wire would be great, to allow some fun action poses.

i think link should come with his own skinny neck....we want to capture the essence of Link and i think it would be right to get the skinny neck....so i say buid it to fit the Slim TT.....:)
