The lip of the sculpted hat looks like it has a slight curve to me in the photos . It just may not be as pronounced as it is on screen. The overall shape of it is pretty good looking. I also really like the texturing and the shade of brown Jake chose.

I think this photo shows what Joebizz is talking about.

Yes exactly!! That is an awesome pic from that angle to really see how the hat looks from above. Great find.

Hey look..it is what it is and if the sculpt is final then that's that.

Re: Candyman & Friend! Monty productions! Sculpts by MG Updates on page 97

I think the bill of the hat on the sculpt comes to a thinner point around the edge. If you look at the pick again I posted above you can see that it has a softer more rounded edge and not thinned out as much. It's hard to explain what I mean so if no one else sees it, then I will stop mentioning it and move on. :)

I got you now, and yes, I agree. The brim shoild have a more rounded/rolled look as opposed to the thinner sharper edge. I'm glad you posted the comparison photo's.

the brim in the sculpt does have the curve.... It just isn't as pronounced. It doesn't really bother me too much. I also imagine if it curled as much as the on screen hat..... The molding could get complicated. I could be wrong on that though!

i am glad this refer eve helps with the ribbon jake! As you know by know I am very thorough with the references haha.

I still can't over how great this sculpt and paint looks!

I noticed this attempted Wonka hair addition in another thread. How does this look, especially the area that would be below the hat?

That hair thickness is good, it may not be curly enough though

Re: Candyman & Friend! Monty productions! Sculpts by MG Updates on page 97

Yeah! That was one I did, bloody hard finding the right hair! That was actually Mo-Hair. Not curly enough, I agree! :)

Re: Candyman & Friend! Monty productions! Sculpts by MG Updates on page 97

I like the thiness, seems like it would be easily futzed.

Re: Candyman & Friend! Monty productions! Sculpts by MG Updates on page 97

Hows this look?.... not happy with it, and waiting on the thinner curlier camel color hair to come in. Just wanted to get your guys opinion

Re: Candyman & Friend! Monty productions! Sculpts by MG Updates on page 97

I think its still looking pretty close. I think if it was curler it would be perfection.

Re: Candyman & Friend! Monty productions! Sculpts by MG Updates on page 97

I'd say that is looking pretty good - it would be nice if the color of the sideburns and the hair matched better.

Jake mentioned getting Camel colored hair, I think that would make a huge difference in the color matching. With this current photo the highlights don't match but the darks definitely do.

Thanks I guess....still working on it so yeah ill make sure it matches a bit better. Wonkas sideburns were not the same color as his hair though

Cool...new hair should be in soon and it curlier

I couldn't even tell you what color his hair was if I tried. Maybe because I am color blind? or because its just truly unique haha. This photo shows how the highlights and darks are very similar to what Jake has done with the most recent pics. Jake mentioned the next bout being camel colored, which I think will be spot on.

On Wilder's hair, it isn't curly, it wavy. Wavy, frizzy, and a bit of a birds nest. Color wise, it is more of a dirty blonde.

totally agree, I'd say his hair has been teased, rather than curled and has a massive comb over from left to right
