I got deposit back last month. The last update... was the final straw that broke the camels back for me. Personally after this amount of time I can't see this sculpt ever seeing the light of day now. I hope I'm proved wrong. I guess anybody that's still on the list needs to keep on at Dean for this to be made. As again he has just posted an update of stuff he's got in 1/4th Joker & Harvey Two Face and no Zod in sight.

I was only ever in this for the painted sculpt so I'm not bashing Dean here. I just think he has got his business priorities in check solely focused on where the money is at which you cant blame the guy "who doesnt want to make money eh" as stuff that has taken far less time has made it out and I would guess that's because of popularity... It makes sense to work on digital sculpts and fast track them if for talk sakes they secure 100+ orders over the likes of this General Zod head sculpt that isn't as popular and continues to be put on the back burner.

Looks like this project got its neck snapped!:)

:lol yea maybe so. So, much demand for all his other sculpts which I'm sure they have their hands full keeping up with.

Also, sory for bumping this thread with no news :|

Dean, any chance we can have an update on this? Whether or not it's still getting made? :)

The last I got from him was the final prototype had been delayed being returned to him so it would be about 2 more weeks. That was Sept 30th. I think it would be safe to say that if we don't see something by the end of October we can officially call it quits on this unfortunately.

Hi all, I guess it was "lost in the mail"... :impatient::mad:

I am having a new proto printed to have it cast with the Wade heads in the next week. Sorry for the delays - it's been a headache trying to get this guy back.

No - that's not the case at all. It's simply been a back and forth to try to get the prototype back in my possession. I didn't like the idea of redoing work that was already done - meaning I didn't want to have a second master printed as the last one was great.

Oh well - Looks like I will have to anyway.

Thanks for the update Dean!

I'm sorry this sculpt is giving you such a headache...first trying to get the paint sample now just trying to get the headsculpt itself back :slap that's gotta be super frustrating. Hope it does get back to you and doesn't wind up like you Begins Batman cowl sculpt

C'mon, it's only been two-and-a-half years. Have a little patience.

:banghead

We were told 100% will be release next month and that was in late August so late September or early Oct we should have seen it. Ofcourse more "delays". I'm beginning to think he is just waiting for the list to dwindle to nothing from people asking for refunds or just let him keep the deposits.

I don't want to be an apologist for long-delayed custom projects, but at least it's only an $8 deposit and we were all offered a refund when the painted option was dropped. Also, the $8 deposit originally wasn't even necessary. I'm in for other customs (not from CREG) where the wait has been just as long and my financial commitment is well over $1,000 with nothing to show for it, so sitting on this list is no big deal (except that I would like to actually have the head someday).

I generally don't like to back out of custom projects I've committed to because that can screw over the artists who have invested time and money in something that is ostensibly being produced because myself and others have expressed interest. I think that customers' expectations should be different when the deposit is just to reserve a spot on an interest list (like our $8 deposit for this) and when our deposit (such as my $1,000+ deposits on other projects) will be used to fund production of the item. When it becomes clear that I'm the one getting screwed over---specifically, when my production-funding deposit has resulted in nothing being produced---then it's time to 1) call out the person running the project to try and get it finished; 2) attempt to get a refund; or 3) call it quits, eat the lost investment, and never do business with that customizer again. Custom figures, especially unpainted custom heads, is a competitive market, so there would reasonably be a risk for lost business when there's no progress.

Dean isn't going anywhere and I think the delays on Zod are due, in part, to him trying to make sure the end result is good, but it certainly appears that Zod is not a priority for him, so if you're tired of waiting and still want a neutral expression for Zod, then you could ask for a refund and get someone else to sculpt the head. There are other customizers who will bang out a prototype in a few days and follow-through with a final product in much less time than this has taken, provided there is enough interest.

In all fairness, he said "next month" but never mentioned of which year...:monkey3

I don't think that's a fair statement. I get that the delay has been incredibly long for this. BUT as Rydeck mentioned, CREG and Lady CREG offered refunds for anyone who wanted out. Dean is clearly not interested in taking folk's money.

true they did offer refunds, though I wonder if I did contact them and say I want a refund if I got the same kind of responses as the delays with this headsculpt. "We are awaiting funds transfer to be able to send your refund" "Delay in processing your refund" "Refund will be 100% sent next month" LOL
