I got mine last night, I have mine painted black up to the eyeball and it looks amazing. it's my favorite feature of the cowl
MRM, actually still painted a barely visible red areas then painted black which gives it the impression like bale's painted eyelids. I love the squinted look. In hand, it looks magnificent.

I really wish this board would have a sticky to never post pics with flash. People always go in frenzy whenever any pics with flash gets taken cause it either washes out colors or it throws out some of the details for a loop.

Also about actual eyes, Ill be honest, I wasn't too keen of the picture of the proto because the eye seem painted weird but the eyes look magnificent in hand, I can't tell if its painted or decals but I'm blown away cause its amazing.

Anyway, just like the other guys, I can vouch that once you get these, the dx12 cowl goes back in the box.
I like MRM so much better.
When I have time, I'll post pics but I don't have my camera with me so it may be Monday before I post pics, but rest easy, it looks good.

thanks man, and i wish i had decals instead of painting them by hand as i'm sure one i'll go blind from painting tons of tiny eyeballs :lol

it's simple, i was asked paint the black around the eye right up to the eyeball which gives a more squinted look which some like more. nothing shrank at all. if any of you want yours painted like the prototype (which is the one alexi has) then let me know and it will be done that way. also it doesn't help that the flash on his camera cast a heavy shadow over the eyes.

I love my cowl...In person, on the actual figure it looks amazing...def has that squint look...here's a pic in natural light in the Detolf using my iPhone...I'm 100% satisfied.

Best photo of this cow yetl! I see Bale..if you add Robbie's mouthplate the result will be perfect!

@Maglor Where are his eyes? Is the faceplate painted - looks very pale. And is his left ear shorter than the right? Does look a lot better in terms of shape when compared to the DX.

It's clearly unpainted... Which I just mentioned two pages back.

You can see the cowl shape in the pics.

Didn't notice the ears until you mentioned them. His left is a tiny bit longer.

Sorry MRM it seems that my pics is crucifying you here on the boards. To be honest the eyes are very visible and its just the lighting since I'm no pro with the camera, but if someone who has a better photo skills than me than bring out how the head is basically the MEDI head and i just slapped on robbie's face plate on the pics.

Ung....in my haste, I thought I could manage to take a pic of the eyes without switching to my other lens that can zoom.

So please note but the lens I used was fixed (cant zoom). I Should have used the other lens. Not at home now so cant take more pics, so this is not a great representation of the squint look with the black painted to the eyeballs. I basically had to zoom in on a clearer picture and magnify it and save.
So this pic dont do this justice.

actually guys, i touched up the eyes myself after talking with zack and prior, remy, about the eye situation. just a vry minor adjustment. so i imagine what zack is doing on the cowls is the same essentially. just doesnt turn up as well in most pics.

After talking to Alexi, I asked specifically for mine to be painted all the way to the eyeballs cause after looking at lots of stills, it always looks like the black was painted all the way to the eyeballs and with Bale always squinting, I wanted to capture that look.

But iam not sure i understand about the eyes..

So, to be clear ,there is 2 ways of having them painted?
Like Alexi's cowl, or like Remy's cowl?
is that right?

For mine, i think that i'd prefer the squint look, like on all those pics:

Is that still possible?
