You don't have to buy the exact brands I did, but FYI here is what I used to put mine together, which you guys will need to do, but it's super, super simple.
I filled the shoe up about halfway with the 5 minute JB weld mix, I inserted the ankle piece into the shoe and held it upright until it could stand on it's own. This stuff fully cures in one hour. Please note, inside the shoe botton is a notch. The ankle piece is not really intended to be pushed inside this socket, so don't force it. The pocket is to fill up with epoxy and help hold the piece in even better.
I used the gorilla gel and filled one end of the wire post about hafway, inserted each of the 3 wires into place and let them cure, once dried I used the JB to glue the shin peg into the knee. Once this cured you can glue in the other end of the wires into the opposite post. I intentionally included longer wires, you can cut them to fit your taste, shorter wires will go straight from post to post, longer will bend and curve between posts.
Lastly I got some rough sandpaper and scuffed up the shoe bottom, and lightly scuffed the top of the shoe sole, and glued them together using JB. If you put too much, when you push them togther, epoxy will ooze out of the seams. If this happens, wipe it off quickly before it dries.
You do not glue the joint pins, they should very gently fit into each other. When I assembled the prototype, I thought the pins were not fitting until I realized I did not have the holes lined up right.
Most of this will make sense when you see the instructions, and don't get too anxious reading this, it really is very simple to do.
I had the foam cut to hold individual pieces instead of a finished and assembled leg because I thought I was going to have mostly kits being ordered, so I had to solve for both a kit and painted set.
Please remember, this item, just like anything Rainman does, or even Hot Toys does should be handled with extreme care. Just like a hot toys, if you force something in too roughly, it will break, if you drop it, parts might break.
Please, please, please PM me if you are unsure of something before doing the wrong thing, I will be happy to help walk you through it.
All US orders are insured for the full paid amount. If there is any package damage, or crushed or cracked parts, you should photograph the damage immediately and let me know so I can file a claim. You always want to photograph the damaged outer package as well as the parts inside. If there are damaged parts outside of the joint pins, I have no replacements. All I can do is file a claim and try to get some of the money back, but as complex as the molds were, only 10 sets were able to be cast before the molds started having issues. So I don't have spare parts lying around.
