Ok, Im going to go with 11mm unless there is any sort of debate here.

Also I know I owe you guys an overseas quote, but for the US people I have only received one payment.
Once I get the minimums paid for, I'm going to start the print run and I won't be going back later and doing one more for someone because they forgot to check the thread or something...so please get your payments in now.

I'll try to get that international quote tonight, but I honestly can't see it being more than a few bucks more than U.S.

Sorry for the confusion Chris. I think 12mm tip to tip should do it. 10 to 11mm would look best, but I added a mm to give you a little more room to work. Do you plan to offer these painted for an additional fee?

Based on the UPS shipping site, it estimates the shipping to be about $10.50. That seems a few bucks high, but I won't know the actual until I ship. Once folks pay, I can always refund over-payments.

HOWEVER - Hold off on payments just this second. I had a huge print job to run last night and I had enough room to throw one of the sheriffs badges on the printer. There was an issue with the angle I printed at that I need to try to adjust for and figure out.

I just want to make sure I can confidently do these at the level of quality they need to be before I collect a bunch of cash.

I have my full time career during the week, and I do 1/6 work on the side, so I'm limited to nights and weekends to chip away at projects. So just FYI as to why there aren't always daily updates.

Ok so I got this sucker figured out on the best way to print it. The original attempts had support all over the back of the badge which would have had to be clipped off and sanded down. This way you only have 3 supports to snip. And how you see it here is how you will get it. As small as these are with the tiny details, having those supports left on will help give it some structural integrity during shipping. It's as easy as using an xacto knife.

I went ahead and printed 8 of the sheriff ones that all came out just great like the one in the photo and are ready to ship.

As mentioned yesterday, until I actually am at the post office I will not know down to the dollar amount what each will cost for international shipping.
The USPS website estimator says $10.50. I feel like the actual will be less and would be happy to refund overages.

Obviously the Marshal badges will look just like this but with the different name.

I wanted to be able to go deeper with the letters but as thin as the badge is to be in scale, you don't want to go so deep it weakens and blows out in the back.

So, I want to pay. Should I wait until you've printed both MArshall and Sheriff as I want one of both?

As for shipping costs, I think they look quite high. Those are tiny pieces and if you send them in a regular envelope, I think you should be fine!

Considering only one person has paid I'm going to wait to print the marshal badges until payments are received.

Shipping costs are based on these being properly padded and shipped in a small 4x4x2" box.

However if you want, I am fine with putting yours in a letter envelope and it would probably cost $1-$2 international.

However if one of the tips breaks in transit I have no obligation to replace the damaged piece.

Also as I mentioned before the international price I posted is an ESTIMATE that I get from their website. I feel like it will be less but I won't know until I actually ship.

So for now all 7 sheriff badges have been printed and are ready to ship. I can print the others in just a few hours on any given day but I don't want to print them before payments are sent and be stuck with them.

But if you want to go the envelope route just add $2 to the badge price.

What's the deal gang?? I just found out from Chris that only 2 Freaks have sent in the money for these badges. I know that Chris has put a lot of time into this project, and I thought we'd had a decent response. Now everybody's bailing out.

So as a reminder, I went ahead and printed all of the Sheriff badges, those are ready to go.
Since I originally wanted 3 or more interested folks on the Marshal badges, it looks like we just need one more paid order for Marshal for me to print that run.

But if you are wanting Sheriff only, please send payment and those can go out right away.

So I'm going to print the Marshal badges over the weekend and get these 2-3 orders out to you guys who paid, but I have to say I'm highly disappointed with the turn out. I know that in all custom runs, sometimes a few people flake out or disappear, but in this case most everyone bailed. Sculpting these things, doing renders, posting updates, doing test 3D prints and all takes a lot of time away from other projects.

I gave it one more week (this week) hoping more payments would come in but they didn't.

I guess it's on me for not taking deposits but I didn't think for a $15 item I needed to. This is going to change the way I approach custom projects in the future.

I'm glad that a couple of you who have been wanting these badly are getting them, but I wish there had been more follow through.

Yes but I posted the quote 8 days ago that I got from the usps site. I even acknowledged that it sounded a hair high and that it would likely be less..I was only going off what the website said based o. The weight and dimensions. I also stated that any overages would be returned.

You didn't get me into nothing so no sweat. You're a good dude and I'm glad I was able to ultimately get you something you have been wanting for awhile.

As I mentioned this morning this is just one of many lessons I'll learn along the way. Some folks just like to window shop and that's where it stops.
