Its like talking to a wall Hector? Dude quit talking **** on the thread and PMing me like we're all good and everything's ok. I'm not down with that 2 faced bs. I'm not gonna continue to get jumped here and watch everyone spew ******** like they're all perfect and love everyone else blah blah blah. Shout out to everyone Pming me talking **** about all ur comments but not saying anything on the thread lol. I know u reading this LOL And just to clarify something. When I mentioned "passion" I wasn't obviously talking about the guys here that won't shut up about it. Obviously u guys are FULL of passion lol. I was just simply stating what I've been noticing in all the Facebook group as of late. SO many guys cutting corners now with bootlegs, knock off parts and recasts ect. More than I've seen in the past. Doing **** like that to me shows you're not as serious about this as others. Maybe that's not "passion" and I should have reworded it better? I dunno But Jesus Christ all mighty I can't handle all this internet doll war ****. Go outside guys! Enjoy your day!!! It's nice out.

This is all you had to say. But instead you explode at me and others. Judging others for what they collect is pathetic dude.

Oh and shout to your buddies that are talking **** and can't keep my name out their mouths. :wink1:

Commence the flames! Didn't you know all Magnus Rainman projects are doomed to ****ery!?

No dude, you know that's not true. Everything you ever lobbied for was a worthy character. Psycho is a total classic and Norman is a cultural icon. This is completely worthy of the top shelf treatment.

Anyone here who has ever helped an artist or company with a project knows that there's only so much you can suggest and influence, and the rest is out of your hands.

For me, this was a heart breaker. I wanted in (and still do) but details that are important to me stood in the way. I really was hoping for a stronger likeness. For a bare bones character I think that the jacket could've been included at this price. The forearms and pegs could easily be airbrushed to match. I mean that's something that stood out like a sore thumb, and I respectfully say that Lee shouldn't even expect us to accept that for this price in 2016 (as far as the hobby has come). I don't know what popular belief vs. the real deal is anymore, but I'm sure he wouldn't even paint the bodies himself.

I don't know where this release stands since everything was open last night and this morning everything is closed, but I hope he gives people the opportunity to order if he shows improvements that people on the fence were waiting for.

Hmm maybe this might be way off but has he looked into using 3A bodies? Or would that cost too much?

That's actually a good idea. I don't know much about the body politics tho. As we all know knock off bodies are used because the legit ones are harder to come by in higher quantity? Wouldn't hurt to ask tho

I think this is a great choice DarthMagnus, monumental film history, long time on my Rainman wishlist.
Placed my order and no worries this will be something special. (what a stressful time it was when production number was low...)

Thanks love! I totally agree! And yes, I dreaded those times but I somewhat miss the excitement that has since fizzled out!:duff

Ah! I see.

You should have already knew dude! You're slipping!

I hear what you're saying dude but to me this is nothing new and it really shouldn't be to you either. Rainman is an artist first and foremost. We have all traveled down this road before. We can suggest and push till we have this man sad and down. Over time I think he has developed a somewhat thick skin and just tries to ignore most messages coming his way as we know he probably has tons!

Also, sorry to hear that you passed dude! The jacket was never a deal breaker for me as I would mostly displaying in the mother disguise. Also takes care of the painted arms. As for the pegs, painted pegs don't really work. I own many and they all peel at some point (even with the great Surfers paint!).

When copping a custom figure or any figure at that, most of the time they can be improved upon. Weather it be a piece of clothing,an accessory, hands, feet or a headsculpt. Something can be changed for the better. When I buy a piece be it Beto, Rainman, Iminime etc... I am open to the fact that it may not be 100% up to the way I like. But I have the base and I can always improve on it. And to complain about price at this point I think is kinda a moot point. Hot Toys and just about everything else have gone up in price! Its the nature of the beast!

Yes, you can speak with your wallet and not buy! I doubt it will stop Rainman from doing his thing though.

I for one hope he doesn't re-release the figure. Keep the numbers low and make it like old times with Norman and Mother becoming the new Lucy/Marla! I believe in a few months it will be a sought after piece unlike The Shining and Dracula over saturation as of late. Many will be sorry!

Lastly, guys leave Stiff alone. This guy has so much passion for this thing that we all used to love so hard! He reminds me of myself from a few years back (till I lost the drive to even bother debating anymore). He loves the game and is fighting desperately to keep the art side of it relevant. I can't knock the man for that! It's definitely one of the things I miss the most about this forum and why I don't choose to participate as much. It's all ADD WATER AND MIX now!

Popcultkid! I miss you my butterfly. Why all
The hate in this group, all of these figures will be in a landfill one day and we will be dust in the wind. I want you all to know I love you and you just collect what makes you happy. Collectors lives matter!

Indisputable as far as I'm concerned and the reason my order was locked in from the moment it was announced, irrespective of any revisions. I thought you would have ended up caving and going for it for the same reason.

I said early on that Perkins could (understandably) be a very awkward likeness to capture because, back in the days of the original Psycho, he was one beige looking mutha*****r. Nothing really distinctive about him at all. Which was kind of why he was perfect in the role in the first place. It wasn't until he'd aged a couple of decades that he developed the creepy mannerisms, crazy eyes and stretched out Terrahawks skin.

Both Mother and Norman as 'Mother' look great to me and, being a bit of a lazy *******, I can't imagine myself ever wanting to mix things up and display Normal Norman anyway, so I'm happy as is.

This was also one of my old man's all time favourite films and one of my earliest memories is sitting there watching it with him so (as stupid as it may sound) I'm looking forward to adding these for soft ass sentimental reasons.....even though the narky old git would be giving me a right dirty look from beyond the grave if he ever discovered I'd started 'playing with dolls'

They're not dolls!!! Surely he must see that!!! :wink1:

Nothing soft about that brother. I'm sure that sentimental value and nostalgia is the large part of why most of us are here.

Believe me, I didn't want to pass. I still don't. I was legitimately stressed over this release :lol. But I've never been a set it and forget it guy. I'm the dude that uses all the accessories that others don't bother taking out of the box and I like options and versatility because I do switch poses, head sculpts, etc. I always found that if a fig starts to get stale, I just switch up the pose, accessory, display, whatever and it brings it new life. I'm probably in the minority with that but because that's the way I handle my collection, the regular look is just as important as the "mother" look to me. I understand that all the guys who are solely going to use the "mother" look can see past anything I had I gripe with.

Of course brother, it's nothing new but the hobby has changed, grown and evolved. Things that flew a few years ago don't as much today. I'm all for getting a nice little extra from Robbie or Fullmetal, swamping/upgrading the body, getting Seb or Jake to work their magic on something... but replacing a head sculpt on an already expensive set is where I get very reluctant. I've done it before on lesser priced custom sets, and sometimes that even rubs me wrong, but at over $720 the head sculpt is half of what I'm paying for! Getting Jnix's awesome Solo sculpt and popping it right on the HT set is one thing, this is a different thing entirely.

I gotta say, it’s that very kind of thing that makes the” just add water” formula even more attractive. Head from him, paint from him, outfit from there, accessories from them and you have a build that doesn’t need swaps and additions because you pieced it together with the best, or your personally preferred parts, that are available right from the start.
