With Driver shipping rather soon, Rainman has yet to announce his next figure, well I really hope he sticks to his guns and makes what he originally said, before all the little kids started *****ing & whining...

Would be awesome if he did

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this as well! We have yet to see a really great Decaprio sculpt. Be great to see RM take this on

I thought this was settled? :dunno Rainman would not do it because someone else has already moved foward on this particular character.

Seems like this is more of companion piece to bill. May not sell to well with those that missed out on Bill, and most Bill owners , even those with the great bashes would probably agree that Bill is strong on its own.

My personal choice for a companion piece would be Liam Priest Vallon. Side by side those two would look great on the shelves.

But as they say.....To Each his Own.

:exactly:

People still want to see it happen.

Why Calvin Candie though? What was so special about that performance to you? Just asking though I am really interested to know. I wasn't overly impressed by him or the movie :horror

I'm really not.

I think Django was a good movie, but its not one I can watch over and over again. :dunno

I'd like to hear everybody's reason for liking Calvin Candie so much without a knee-jerk reaction of , "You're crazy if you didn't like Django!"

Please elaborate

I really enjoyed Django, and I thought Dicaprio playing that villain was really enjoyable. As a figure it would look especially interesting on the shelves with the assortment of possible accessories (Coconut cup, cigarette, hammer, skull) plus the clothing. Just a much better choice for a Dicaprio 1/6 figure choice than amsterdam.

As far as not being overly impressed about the film is your personal preference I guess, to each his own....But Candie as a figure seems a better fit and cooler representation of Dicaprio especially when considering that most of the themes associated with Rainman's
choice of characters is usually dark and villainious (Alex, Bill, Anton, Pulp Fiction, etc).

Amsterdam, Nah. I'd rather have Calvin Candie as Rainmans Dicaprio representation.

Final battle Amsterdam will look amazing, with the leather accessories, metal weapon, weathered clothing, a likeness I think Rainman can nail, GoNY is a favorite film if mine and not having Bill sucks and I still want Amsterdam, really hope Rainman sticks with this, I think he'll have less pressure of he goes with this and less pressure and people bickering about perfection will give him the time and space to knock it out the park!

:exactly: GoNY in my opinion was the better film. Decaprio's performance in Django was good, I'll agree. But he was just as good in GoNY. I think there's a big fan base for GoNY in the custom world. So I don't think he will have a problem selling them. Maybe he could do a small run like Doc H where he just did 15 full sets. Like Hunter said I think this figure could really stand out on the shelf with the Red/White striped shirt, weathered clothing and staff. But that's just my two cents and he may end up doing Torrance instead. Guess we will just have to wait and see

I view Anton and Bill in a similar way. Both are from great movies that I love, and both movies have other characters that I really like, but they are the only representations that I personally need from their respective movies.

I really liked TLJ and Llewellyn in NCFOM but I have no need for a high end figure of them the same way I have little desire for Amsterdam. Awesome movie, fantastic actor, good character, good performance.... but Bill is all I need on my shelf from GONY. Amsterdam would have to be mind-blowingly off the charts amazing for me to go $800+ for him.

Torrance on the other hand... I'm HIGHLY anticipating

On another note, I'm a Calvin Candie fan. Would I go RM money for him? I only saw the flick once and have to give it another watch to decode that. But EB not coming thru was a major letdown. At EB prices he was a no-brainer

:goodpost: Still hoping for Torrance as well

I actually wouldn't be opposed to Iminime taking a crack at Torrance either. The reasons that I favor Rainman doing this is because of what he's bring to the table outfit and accessory wise. We already saw with Bateman that Iminime could produce the axe to the highest quality, but I think Rainman is the guy for the job when it comes to the typewriter, bottle and drink glass. Sil's outfit would likely be a touch better than Iminime's also.

All Work and No Play, Makes Jack a Dull Boy.

Torrance is an insta-cop for me! I must have it! :lol

Torrance is still up there for me as well. Classic Jack needs to be represented.
