How many people are owed something by RavenEye?

At least 20 of us, right? I believe the first run had 20 back in October or November. Apparently, there's a second run as well, but those people will be waiting until 2018.

RavenEye, as a Premium Freak with a good reputation, it's your responsibility to provide us more status updates of your actual progress (not just chiming in every month or so that everything is peachy or otherwise). At this point, the moderators are going to start getting involved. If this project is going to take you another two days, another two weeks, or another two months, we need to know TODAY.

I've dealt with Raveneye last year and he gave me like five or six deadlines (took 4-5 months for a small project) and he just kept giving me excuses and I've asked for a refund. Get your money back people!

Guys, lets have faith.
An explanation is all we need. Im sure there would be reason.

Raven - You logged in yesterday, perhaps can you please give us a quick update on where everything is at?

Thanks

To be fair guys we asked him for multiple revisions when he has had these ready to go several times and he's agreed.

Now we complain about waiting? Not a fair double standard. He's updated a lot of even just to say he's working on it...

We shouldn't get out the pitchforks...

But I will say one thing I learned the hard way several times never over promise and under deliver.

You think it's gonna take you six weeks? Say three months and deliver in six weeks if you happen to be on track. I've dealt with that a lot on these forums and you know what? I've been guilty of that many times too

There's people waiting on paint for me. You never know when the **** storm of life will hit.

I'll never ever take someone's money and not give them 100% even if it ends up costing me pennies worth my time because I messed up on the product or they wanted a change

And that's what raveneye is doing here.

He has my respect very much.

Ramond F., with all due respect, I've dealt with 12 different artists/craftsmen on these forums (multiple times with a couple) and this is an absolute FIRST. Communication is always key, and three weeks between updates on a "quick fix" is unacceptable. And your use of "revisions" makes it sound like we've asked for RavenEye to make changes to the advertised prototype, when that's not the case at all. Both "revisions" have been FIXES to botched jobs. The original belt length was WAY too short. Then when he fixed the length of the leather, he failed to fix the length of the actual belt, which as you see from the prototype, includes the proper eyelets set damn near all the way to the metal tip. So let's make sure we're utilizing the correct connotation here of "revisions."

All we're asking for is simple updates on a weekly, even daily basis as these "revisions" are applied. Three belts are finished and here's what they look like. Five belts are complete. Half are in the bag and will be shipped tomorrow. OR WHATEVER. You get the idea. Simple communication.

He's shown me my completed commission yet when I asked that he send it to me, silence... And it was prepaid for back in October.

Raven, you're a talented freak. Don't let us down. Deliver the goods or issue prompt refunds.

Absolutely agree with this. It doesn't take long to come in here and provide a quick update, especially when it's confirmed he's logged in. This is ridiculous. I don't mind waiting, on the condition he keeps us apprised on the status... not too much to ask for...

Thanks for the alternate perspective guys. Was giving the benefit of the doubt but I see and value the point of view

At this point I think reveneye should chime in with an ETA and it should be something he feels he can reasonably achieve

Like tornadoes and Kansas, seems to always hit the customizers :dunno :lol

It's not a matter of the wait...it's the lack of communication.

I recently asked a very talented painter to get on his list. He said yes but I had to wait until May before his schedule opened up. I agreed and assumed we were all set. Messaged him last month and all of a sudden he doesn't remember the agreement, he's like two months behind and he's got a lot of stuff going on :eek:hbfrank:

While I appreciate the time constraints, I can't get behind all the excuses. Be a man of your word...don't be a Trumpster :lol

Had he said, man I am really behind but I can still take you later. I would understand. But the no communication and then feigning forgetfulness when I contacted him a month and a half before my scheduled slot, that's just BS.

When my brother and I offered our fully articulated '66 Bat-Shield, We told the guys it would take a week per order. We stuck to that but we worked at it literally every day. Even if it was just laying down 10-15 minutes of paint work. We made progress. All orders were delivered on time except one and I was in email and thread communication with the buyer the whole time.

There really is no good excuse. Life happens but business goes on. Sure this is a hobby but once you start taking guys money, you're in a business contract. Regardless how frivolous the hobby may seem sometimes, people's money is not.

Most problems stem from lack of communication...that's why we have an issue now.

LOL... that's for sure. It's been a year, so I don't think we can be accused of being impatient! Goddamned Job himself would be proud :lol

It just comes down to the communication. I think we all can agree on that much. Of course, this entire discussion continues to be absurdly ironic until we hear from our supplier...

Damn, I don't need a coup here... 20 run by ONE person is big to ask of me. Ya know I've been doing this hobby 4-5 years now, many people get quality from me. I'm not Hot Toys, I don't have reserve resources but you as the customer pay that. AND as of lately I've had to make revisions of this for Quality. That and I'm low on specific leather. I mess up one hole punch, cut etc on that belt someone is going to have to wait two weeks with second run since supplier gets his stock in that time.

Furthermore I'm ALWAYS online here. My mobile phone has me signed in. So I check here every 2-3 days. As for the supplies I received, I should have shipping ready to go by Wednesday. Shipping is Monday thru Wednesday. Thursday-Saturday's are family member's work days.

And for the life of me, at least I'm still here! Not like I'm IDM, we all know how that turned out. As far as that this will the last run I ever do with down payments. Next time anybody has a "Group Project" suggested. It'll be done first, pay later.

And furthermore chewblock, that was private commission that I went through some heavy ****. And you know that...

These commissions procrastination isn't on my end then as it is in the complexity of the belts. Which at this moment are 80% done for shipping.

Tbh I don't mind the wait at all, I prefer good quality above speed. And this is still off the books, we get high quality custom pieces instead of mass production(sometimes crappy finished, even Hot toys really) items from big companies. I'd rather have something really unique and well executed then something 'ok'. And if that means waiting a little longer then that's totally fine tbh. Don't forget these artists have perhaps busy lives, day jobs as well too coop with. As long as the artist doesn't disapear an keeps updating or at least communicating I don't see any problems here. If you want something delivered fast you should buy from big companies instead tbh.
