The cheap option for costumes is to buy the 10 year old Galactica Majestik/Amok Time figures that came on ancient Sideshow-type bodies.
They make good stand-ins if you aren't too OCD and can be transferred perfectly onto Hot Toys bodies. The costumes are pretty inaccurate-- no ribbing on the flight suit shirts, they are missing some of the costume ornamentation and patches, they have the wrong type of web-belt, etc. I have always felt Classic Galactica had some of the coolest costumes ever, plus I always loved the ceremonial costumes with the capes, but these do if you don't have the money to commission new ones.
Now, we can make the fabric parts of costumes, with the ceremonial capes as part of the set, but there's a lot of stuff to make to pimp it out with the all of the accessories the set should have, meaning the-
1)buckled boots
2)rank pins
3)jacket buckles
4)holster (right and left)
5)laser pistol
6)flight-suit belt buckle
7)belt scanners and computer pads
8)ceremonial belt buckle
9)ceremonial necklaces
10)Helmets?
So there would need to be a lot of people wanting the sets, and just the fabric parts we were quoted will cost about $300 without any accessories/buckles/pins.
Most of those accessories can be taken and used from the Majestik sets however and used as an alternative.
