Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Great pics, are they from the first movie only, as that is what we all want right?

Also, which expression?

Thanks!

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Just some images from google, I agree on the screen grabs might have to be a go.

Idea of face.

Maybe an action pose?

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Ok, which expression? I'm leaning toward either the big smile or tongue sticking out. Let me know!

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Crap! Never realized how big he'd be... I always imagine him more in the "Real Ghostbusters" scale :lol

Can't wait to see how this turns out :rock

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Wow, I never realized how big he was either!

I like the expression you can sorta see in this first pic. Just a huge grin:

That's iconic Slimer to me, but I don't know if we can get a better shot for reference purposes. Maybe go with that second pic sw posted for references to the eyes, head shape, and whatnot. Arm positioning could be down, up in the air, or even reaching forward/to the side like in Skiman's last pic.

I think Skiman's first one is from Ghostbusters 2.

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

I think the 1st one is from 2 as well... either way not a look I'd want to see :lol

Big, blobby and crazy is the look :rock

Wonder if it would be possible for the arms to be some kind of a ball joint? It could be similar to Sideshow's Jabba where the arms have a small range of motion, but the joint is hidden by the folds of the body.

I like the one in the middle.....WITH the optional tongue that can be put in to give the sticking tongue out effect...i think this would be a SURE sell out with an option like that....it would mask two facial expressions within the same sculpt...:)...let me know...

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Good idea with the optional tongue. I would prefer it without though, so the teeth and non-stick out tongue would be important underneath the optional switch-out part. I actually prefer Slimer not to show that much of the upper gums though. The 3rd Slimer in that pic with switch-out tongue would be better IMO.

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

I actually really like this simple grin/smile (just w/o the plate of food)... seems like it would work well with just about any display.

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Anyone want tongue out with 20 hot dogs in his mouth and the plate in the way of his face?

:rotfl I agree with the smile look.

And I still doubt that the clear plastic option would look very good based on, well, all clear plastic figures I've ever seen, including high end attempts like Ghost Rider's flame. Seems like paint could flake off, as well, which would really suck.

Add me to the list por favor.

We will need Janine next :)

Re: Slimer from Ghostbusters by Rocco (Sculptor) interest

Thanks guys. It funny you added those pics, I was scheduled to sculpt that Slimer for the DVD release with Steve Johnson (the sculptor who made one of the Slimer sculpts in the 1984 movie), but had to pass as I was in New York giving a sculpting seminar at Tot Fair that year. Looks like I finally get a crack at Slimer after all!

I'm sculpting this one, as I really like that really wide fat grin. I'm going to give him movable arms as well.:wave
