Just to give an update, I'm still waiting for the sample to arrive. It's on it's way, but the shipping seems to take a while - customs issues possibly.
Ok, got a sample from the maker. I'm told this is modeled on "Indy's gun from ROTLA". I'm assuming it's the the "Stembridge" Smith & Wesson M1917 (pictured next to it below) although there are some differences which may have been either overlooked by/dictated by the person who ordered it (or it may be a slightly different gun that was used for reference - dunno).
It's pretty solid in-hand. This is the silver version which is vastly better than the Zamac version (which they also sent), which is passable but feels "brittle" and cheap. There are some details that i would want to ensure are there on the Bickle guns. I don't know who directed them/gave them reference on this one.
I don't know how big a deal it is to everyone to have the chamber open/close, but the mechanics on this one were a little "loose" and did not always snap into place and stay there. I've talked to them about this and told them that would need to be remidied or possibly just have the chamber spin without opening. Keep in mind for the price these are not FullMetal or Fergo-level (they're swords/knives are pretty nice though) but I think with the right direction (they're very willing to work with me) we can get them very close to that.
