Hey everyone! First, let me say that I am very excited for this project. I think there is so much potential for a really good Summer Glau head sculpt and the idea of a battle damaged Cameron existing... it just needs to happen. Secondly, I am thrilled to be attached to the project. I was a huge fan of this show and have been dying for a battle damage Cameron head ever since the episode aired. For those of you who don't know me I have been painting and repainting collectibles for myself and others since 2009. If you've seen the movie "22 Jump Street," I did the figures in that movie. (You can read about my experience here: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/...152231-forum-gdb-featured-22-jump-street.html)
I have a YouTube channel where I post footage of my work, rare vlogs, occasional how-to vids, and when the mood strikes, special price discounts like the one I'm offering on these heads. (And if you've seen the vids: Yes, I did request not to be sent any more of Trevor Grove's River heads but that was Trevor Grove's sculpt during my Trevor Grove special. I have no problem painting the head, it's just I can afford to be picky and it's not my favorite Trevor Grove sculpt. I'm really excited to see what Sean can do with the heads. I've painted a few of his sculpts in the past and they have always blown away my expectations. And personally I really, really hope we get enough interest in the battle damage head as I cut my teeth painting 3 things in the 90s: Warhammer 40K minis, resin Predator models, and battle damaged Terminator "garage kits" and I really want the chance to revisit the theme. I am going to post sample pics of my work and you can see how I've handled blood, gore, and bruising in the past. For Cameron, I plan on being more conservative than the samples shown, letting the reference photos from the show be my guide. That said, I would happily take requests from people for more gore or less or whatever.
And if you don't like my style or have a favorite painter, that's cool, just get the head unpainted and pick a painter you like. No hard feelings.

I would say so. I guess it could pass as a River custom if you choose so as well, because her hair will be flowing naturally, nothing too fancy. Summer doesn't age. :lol

I see you guys have me down for both. But I would only want a painted normal if I'm in and know the price. I would like a lead on the other materials as well. Body, clothes, stand, guns, etc. A good feel for the overall cost.
Also, are we just getting a head sculpt and will have to find a source for hair too? An extra $100 for hair sounds like a lot. But if he gets it right like the unmasked Catwoman then I guess it's ok. I'm new to this so I don't know if $100 is normal.

Well, at this point we're only prioritizing the two headsculpts for now, with a possible two sets of outfits made if there is sufficient support behind it.
What is certain however, is that we will not be offering any bodies, stands or accessories as that would certainly add up to a lot more than anyone would like, and you'd be much better off finding aftermarket parts off eBay. Since Cameron wears a lot of different outfits throughout the show (plus a variety of weapons), that would give a lot of leeway in how you prefer your look.
As for the price, Ill be updating that the second I can but what I am certain is that it will cost less if we mange to gather sufficient interest due to equally distributing cost between each order. So in short, if we reach the 15 or more mark it will definitely be priced lower than $100. If you want the heads to be painted, there will be an additional $50 for the clean version and $55 for the battle damage head.
What is unfortunate however, is that it looks like we have to drop the wig hair and settle for a sculpted hair.
Solidus and I are merely rallying people to get behind this to cover the cost of design, labor, manufacturing and painting of the heads so we're not making any profits out of this beyond the sheer satisfaction of finally having a worthy figure to be displayed next to Hot Toys's offerings.

I'll update the thread with an outfit interest list and see how many people we can get. I still haven't found a tailor and what I had in mind is that the outfit being not too elaborate to keep cost at a bare minimum- just her tank top, two pairs of jeans and the prison shootout jacket from the final episode.
At this rate is seems like the wig has to be dropped as another $100 on top of an already $60-100 head seems a bit too much for folks to sign up. Good news is that Sean's sculpted hair looks great nonetheless if you refer to his previous work.
As for the prototype, I don't think it works that way unfortunately. This is such a small project and Sean does this for a living, so it seems like we'll be collecting a small deposit when the list closes then he'll start working on it. Sean will constantly show us his work in progress, so we all could comment on it if we have suggestions.
I think Sean is the reason I'm behind this project, I have confidence in his work (seriously, check him out) and Solidus and I wouldn't have started this interest thread if he hadn't agreed to it.

Drilling is one thing but doesn't there have to be a socket inside the head to grip a ball-joint. Otherwise you're just plopping the head onto a neck - it'll just fall off and **** up the paint.

Would the outfits be tailored to a particular body? I know they are pricey, but the original Phicen Stainless Steel bodies seem to be a good match to her build, very thin. No seams would be great for the tank top. Most people probably won't want it though.
