Re: The Bio-exorcist ghost, SECOND RUN EXTENSION 5 more spots only!!

And to think, 27 Beetlejuices in the world and three with ties to Miami! (Army, you and me)

:fireworks:fireworks

I'm a Beto newbie, but you can't top the adrenaline rush he provides.

Agree or disagree with his methods all you want, but when your on the inside. It feels gooooooood :exactly:

Re: The Bio-exorcist ghost, CLOSED!!

Great shot :)

I love this piece so much. I have to say it again. It is just so quality, super unique and has so much charm and personality. The movie is very nostalgic to me and of course the character goes hand and hand, but my attraction to the piece itself outweighs my connection to the source material. Again I go way back with the movie and it's etched on my soul, but it's not amongst my favorite movies or characters of all time; this fig however is one of my favorite pieces in my collection.

That says a lot about what Beto & Lu did with this. Usually pieces have an opposite effect on me like RM's Alex. While there is room for improvement on the piece itself, it’s one of my favorite figs because of my connection to the source material.

This is such a nice figure, I wish I could've sprung for it. In pics it looks beautiful, I can't imagine what it's like in person.

What did you mean that pieces usually have the opposite effect on you? Do you mean the you loved the movie/character but not the figure as much?

Re: The Bio-exorcist ghost, CLOSED!!

I think he's saying the love of the movie/character lets him see past any flaws with the figure, generally. But in this case he loves the figure more than the source material. Just my take after reading.

It is a very cool figure, though. If I had any love for Beetlejuice I'd have picked this up. I just happened to be on the boards that night, so got notifications to both my board account and g.mail that it was being posted. I hope I'm as lucky next time, when it's a character I covet. Their work is my favourite of everything I've seen in the customs section, so think I'll be sticking to Beto/Lu releases as much as possible.

Yup Invictus has it right. My motivation to what I collect and collecting in general all stems from my love of the source material. Really I'm a movie buff first and foremost. The "toy" collecting is something that stemmed from childhood and is something that I just started revisiting a couple of years ago. The figs, prop replicas and statues are just a way to collect things that represent my favorite films/TV shows. I love these mediums for what they are but if I were a richer man I would have just as easily got involved with collecting screen used props; again, I love the figs and so forth but it's really about the source material.

So what I meant is the opposite of what you asked. While I do love the movie Beetlejuice and I grew up with it, I don't hold it in my top 20 of all time; I do hold this fig in the top 5 of my collection though.

Another similar rare example of this is RM's Doc. I not a big fan of the movie and the character is ok, but something about that figure calls me. It really attracts me as an art figure dispite my mixed feelings about the source material.

That makes sense, I'm similar that way too. I only have one figure that I wasn't absolutely crazy about the source material (Mi:4 - though I enjoyed the movie) but I love the way the figure turned out so the figure is one of my favorites right now.

Did you pick up Doc???

Did you pick up Doc???

No I haven't yet. The op has been in my lap more than several times and I decided against it each time (each time was for retail too). I'm sure one day the stars will line up right and someone will catch me on that day that I give in :lol

Re: The Bio-exorcist ghost, CLOSED!!

Not that I mean to rush anything, but is there a time table for this fella at all?

Re: The Bio-exorcist ghost, CLOSED!!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's only been a couple of months. The first run took like 8-10 months (I forget exactly) to receive from sales day.

Hang in there gents, he's worth the wait
