Re: UPDATE 1/6 Dr Loomis Halloween (1978) by Legio 7 and Yunsil

A quick update..... I talked to a talented 1/6 shoe tailor from Korea last nite named Weylen Tseng. I wanted to ask you guys if you prefer plastic pegged shoes or real faux leather lace up shoes? I was able to negotiate a deal where the cost of each pair of shoe's will be the same as the plastic version, so the price for Loomis would remain the same.

So what kind of shoes would you guys prefer?

I'm personally gonna have to say plastic pegged shoes. It's worth a try but in my opinion shoes in 1/6 that are sculpted and painted give off a much better illusion and detail, so I always personally prefer the sculpted shoes.

Also I have some reference photos and screen grabs of Loomis suit. Some things to remember is its a freckled tweed material, it's a 70's cut suit with wider lapels and the shirt coller is also a bit wider and sharper exactly similar to the Bruce Lee 70's suited figure coller shirt from Hottoys (I have a sample shirt that I will post a pic of soon) and the trenchcoat material is more of a raincoat cotton. The actual material name is VENTILE cotton.

Nah. Not for me. I have always prefer sculpted shoes/boots. It's my personal opinion that sculpted shoes/boots completes the figure in a sense that it looks better overall.

Turbo PM all the ref photo's you have so I can pass them along to Yunsil. I took some screen grabs from the first 2 movies but you seem to have much more detailed info.

That's 2 votes for sculpted.

well I say the opposite :monkey3, 1978 Loomis and faux leather / real leather shoes in my head is better suited for him then plastic in 1978, why have plastic maybe you can see a llitle more detail....having something different than plastic for that era 1978, is better suited in my mind.

And to your other questions you asked earlier about the stand and pistol, I can do without the stand. And no plastic for the pistol as well :) just my opinion.

I always like the idea of scaled leather shoes, but (I agree) they never really seem to work and end up looking more like someone's booted a roast turkey up the bum and can't get their foot back out. So, yeah, another vote for sculpted here.

Exactly!
The idea and theory sound great. But they do mostly end up looking like they fall short of the accuracy mark. [emoji6]

Ok, I think we can make the dio a per order basis. And I agree with the die cast metal gun. hopefully the guy I'm talking to can pull the quantity.

Ok everyone, here is another idea for the DX version which also happens to be cheaper than the diorama add on. Someone asked about a led light up H1 Pumpkin (they seem to be popular these days). I have a friend who makes them and coincidentally he's right in the middle of production. They come with the LED light and he can offer different colors. He's asking $30.00 each and they can be made to order, no minimum. Just need to know how many of you guys would be interested?

Here are some WIP pic's.....
