Just out of curiosity, what happens if one of these guys guesses it? The way you're hyping it, it seems like it'll be a big announcement, are you just gonna tell them it's not that guy, either? :lol

It was a pretty dang important sculpt. But I don't fault him for it so much. Every artist has hits and misses. Someone managing the figure design at Hot Toys should have scrapped it and started with someone else if that was the best he could do. And of course, that wasn't the only odd choice about that figure release.

Yeah, it was an important sculpt (DX Indy Levit), and I was among those very disappointed not to be able to pick up the set because of it (I could've overlooked the other issues had the sculpt been solid).

Well I wouldn't blame Arnie. How many (unsuccessful) attempts have we seen at Indy? From where I see it, its evident that the level of difficulty to get his likeness spot on is really high.

Its pretty unfair to crucify him by judging solely a single attempt. He gave us a definitive Reeves, didn't he ?

I find it hard to believe that of all the great sculptors working for Hot Toys, no one could do better than that. But who knows all the factors that went into their decision to go with Arnie's sculpt? I don't think the PERS gimmick did it any favors, but his previous attempt at sculpting Ford wasn't much more successful.

Who cares who the sculptor is as long as it turns out actually looking like Bruce Willis? At this point in time I would say that there are no portrait sculptors out there that bat 1000 every time to the plate. Just because (insert name here) is going to be sculpting this doesn't guarantee a dead on likeness. Too much emphasis is placed on who sculpted a portrait as opposed to the actual merits of the work itself.

I for one am about tired of all the smoke n mirrors with all these custom projects. This ones been on again off again it feels. I just want solid clear concise information for once. Not page after page of guess's, if info is available just spit it out. Show the progress... Consider the feedback before its too late to do minimal tweaks that dont wind up being enough in the end.

It's bad enough we don't have any work in progress pics to feel good about. I'd hate for this project to windup like the training day Denzel attempt. Just saying...

Were Denny to do that then he'd have to cop the same crap Rainman does in those customs threads.

We get what we get with HT, SS, EB etc... :dunno custom work does offer the opportunity for an exchange between maker and customer, but it's often messy and shrill.

Besides, responding to input from us doesn't seem to guarantee an improved sculpt - Tony Soprano was a huge disappointment for many. When Denny took on board advice from specific members it did help with the Matrix sets, but that exchange was well managed outside of the threads.

Let's face it, we as a group are almost never capable of speaking in a unified, respectful voice that would be of benefit to the artist in the making process.

Patience guys. If theres any precedence set with Denny is that he SHOWS WIP. Just look at Trevor's WIP Lenny in the Memento thread, and the Bride in that thread. The truth is the sculptor hasn't started. He is slated to start soon. When he does, OFFICIALLY, we will announce who it is! Chil broskis! I am deeply passionate about this project in the way ankit (axecutioner) was with Bateman. So it will be done right!
