Got Monkeydad added to the list and have a few progress pics.

I've got the major shapes blocked in and will be adding the horns tomorrow. The helmet is still quite bulky at this stage, but it will get carved down in the process until the shape and thickness is right.

I haven't started to texture anything, so don't be alarmed at the way the hair looks globby next to the jaw or any other errors. That will all get worked out in the process.

And lastly, the eyes looking off to the side is just an optical illusion from the lighting. They are actually smooth. Still, a neat accident nonetheless.

I agree, it looks great! I'm pretty much at the same stage, It's definitely tough to get it as accurate as possible. Can't wait to see it complete!

I'm back, and with more pics.

Things went pretty quickly after I got it all roughed out. All the detailing has been done and the horns added. At this point, all that's left is to do one final pass to clean up any texturing errors that showed up in the photographs.

I should have all that done tonight and be ready to start the molds on Monday.

I've only detailed up one horn, because I intend to use it for both sides. They will be seperate from the helmet and you will need to glue them on, hence the gap you see in the pics.

Head and horns are in the mold.

Would have been done sooner, but I've been down sick.

No prob Oz. We have all been sick and know how works is the last thing you want be doing ...Regardless if it's fun or not. I had the flu all last week. Sucked big time:gah:. I think I might have caught it from being on this forum.:dunno :cuckoo:

Anyway hope you feel better and I think the hs looks killer.

Played this game for a solid 8 hours the other night, I cant even guess how much time I have invested so far!
That sculpt is awesome, now Im gonna have to gear my character to look like this so I can get one and feel "connected" to him! Count me as amongst the interested please!

So funny you said that. My character looked nothing like this and seriously contemplating playing the whole damn thing over just to connect with this figure :slap

Ive been wearing the ancient Nord helmet because you see more of the characters face and its still somewhat like the helmet hes always shown with (the one in the sculpt). My character also has a beard but its light enough where that wouldnt bother me.
Ive also been wearing the saviors hide because it looks so barbarian like.
Will you be sculpting the 2 handed sword?

Oh. Yeah that might be a problem.
Dont know if thats worth starting over though, just be this guy next time around!

I haven't played the game in awhile but my character is a Nord in full Daedric armor with the 1H Daedric Sword. I do, however, have this set (studded armor, iron gauntlets, helm, and boots) sitting on one of my mannequins in one of my homes....very much looking forward to seeing how this figure turns out.

Sorry about the slow updates guys, but it's been a hectic month. However, I come bearing awesomeness that should hopefully make up for the absence.

The molds are done and I've spent the past week running casting and assembly tests to make sure everything comes out smoothly.

First up, assembled and primered pics of actual castings.

The hair was one thing I was really worried about, as it's supposed to appear stringy and dirty. I couldn't add it into the sculpt for casting reasons, but if you ragged up the bottom with a file it should come out quite nicely and break up the smooth edge. I'll post a pic of an example soon.

Other important note, the recess for the neck is already in the mold as pictured, so you won't need to do excessive grinding to clean it out.

And lastly, here is the raw castings that you will actually be receiving.

The final pieces will be pressure cast in a white resin and the pour spout hides in the neck recess and snaps off easily. There is one small seam that runs up the back and cleans up easily.

Forgot to mention, armor pieces are under way and I will be doing both the long sword and the short dwarven sword in the weapons package.

And just for giggles, here is my life sized wearable helmet. Just finished this one up for a customer and thought I'd throw it in for fun.
