Laser cut 1/6 monitor rack parts are coming friends!! anic:

The laser cut parts take much more time to come than announced but should get them within two weeks from now. :impatient:

Next progress to be shown are the desk plates with real concrete finish. :yess:

In the meantime, here are finished renderings of the 3D models for the accurate keyboards and mouse that will come with the desks, prints will follow soon:

As always, please kmk what you think! There is one final free spot on the list btw...

Finally got in some of the next most important parts that were laser cut after the 1/6 specs: :yess:

Some 100 $ in laser cut miniature parts for the monitor racks. Pretty happy with the result, they will not require a lot of finishing work. After finishing them I will assemble and paint them to be mounted to the wip desk plates in the next step.

True. Parts sometimes tage ages to come, specially since it's about pretty small numbers. That makes it sometimes hard to find slots of free time that match the times when needed parts arrive.

In this project I would say 70% off the invested time went into the development of the concept as getting all specs of all details from various perspectives was pretty tricky, same as making plans for the 1/6 construction.
Think most people - also myself - underestimate how much time these things take.

I'm sure the results will please everybody and so I'm happy that now the real assembly can begin.

Have invested all free time I had in drilling metal pieces for the desks / racks and chairs. Had been searching here as well https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/...-looking-maybe-cnc-lathe-operator-custom.html but sadly without much response.

However I still need some more complex parts to be drilled with CNC to get them perfectly shaped as well.
Got two offers from CNC companies but it was approx. 40$ for each piece so way beyond the budget.

Will find a solution and post more progress asap. Desk plates are ready btw, just not very impressive yet, though the construction is pretty tricky.

Thanks for the link! Will ask them but I think it might be another field of parts they make. Above I had written CNC drilled but I meant CNC turned. It is needed for the legs of the tables, the chairs and some more parts, like for the racks.

The annoying thing is that ordering one sample run isn't reasonable due to the even higher price per part but ordering all 10 sets is of course very expensive as well. So I'm looking for a more reasonable offer. Somebody from this board who has a small yet precise CNC lathe would be the first choice.

Anyway, I will not cut down the quality so I will accept the expensive offer if I don't get another within the next days. Need the parts for the next progress.

CNC turned parts commissioned.

One of the key steps as these parts will let me connect many of the parts I already got, such as the racks. In the meantime I will be working at the wiring and at more parts for the chairs.

Current goal is to finish this project by December.

Hey fellas, most of the CNC parts got delayed until January :impatient: so I can't work on the assembly atm but will use the time for some updates after Christmas anyway.
