There's a spot waiting for it..

Re: [Fan Customs] 1/6 TDK 'The Bat-Computer' - Ltd. run of 10

Looking forward to the computer. Kicker, your bunker looks great. I have mine set up in a similar fashion, except I put my bat pod on the street above...

Re: [Fan Customs] 1/6 TDK 'The Bat-Computer' - Ltd. run of 10

Hi fellas,

So finally done tweaking all proportions and details after I got some really really great additional pictures of the original from a very cool guy. So these will be as good as I can make them, promised.

You know the 80/20 rule btw? Just realized that this is kinda the "problem" here. :lol I know I could reach 80% perfection at 20% of the time it takes to reach something closer to 100%.

But the thing is, when working on custom things I just can't stop as long as I know I could still improve it. Though you probaly hate me for the delays, I hope the results will please you soon.

The Bat-Bunker project was a mess though, still feel bad for that as it simply took much to long and it made my other smaller projects get delayed as well. Just happy they all arrived save and sound now and you can enjoy them. Think I'm not gonna build a custom piece that big any time soon.

Probably said that already.

Will get back to you asap.

Re: [Fan Customs] 1/6 TDK 'The Bat-Computer' - Ltd. run of 10

Hi fellas,

Have an announcement and I'm pretty happy this became possible. The encredibly talented Brundledonk and ScratchBuilder will support this project with their skills for casting and painting parts.

This project would take a lot more time if I sticked to working on these steps on my own atm so I'm conviced this decision will mean faster results and most likely even better results than I could achive at this point.

In the first talks we decided to change the concept of the table top from a concrete to a resin base. Trials with concrete turned out to be to brittle and hard to paint with a continious level. Also I don't want to risk having cracks over the time.

There will be a lot more info soon.

Thanks,
Fan

Good to hear Fan. Thanks for the update.
I know you have a lot of time and money on this project already.

You could easily have settled on the quality side to save money and time.
But you have continually chosen to not settle for average.
And to go the extra distance to put out a product that will be amazing.

I am looking forward to any future updates.
Well done my friend.:clap:hi5::duff

Re: [Fan Customs] 1/6 TDK 'The Bat-Computer' - Ltd. run of 10

Thanks for the motivation and for understanding the progress and challenges behind such a custom project!

After a long back and forth with an "interested" collector :lol I can now say that one final spot is free for somebody with real interest.
No offense but I find it strange that people who ask the most questions about such projects usually don't write back anymore when it comes to sending the deposit. :dunno Will keep answering questions anyway.

It means there is a chance for one more TDK fan to grab number 10!
Simply drop me a pm, first come first serve.

Re: Grab No. 10 ! [Fan Customs] 1/6 TDK The Bat-Computer

I know that I, for one, can't wait to see the computer sitting in the bat bunker. This is exciting news!

Yes! Most-ridiculous-long-term-project of mine that needs to be finished. Got stuck with it after my last move but trust me I want these to be finished so bad I will finish them 100% promised. My small workshop is pretty much ready now so I can finally unbox most tools and stuff to continue working on them. Again I have no words for the patience of everybody in this project. The result we be rewarding, that is guaranteed.

I hadn’t realized it had been 4 years

Yeah, same here tbh. The actual project start was a little later but still.

Current plan is to finish the run of ten in Q1 2019. There will be a lot more progress over the next weeks. Currently all monitor casings (200 parts) are in the modling and casting progress.
Original plan was to have all these parts directly 3d printed from laser-sintered nylon to save working time on molding and casting. But the overall look just was not perfect imo. This is one example of an improvement that goes into the project thanks to your patience.

Fan, are you still around? I’ve been waiting for a few Walter White watches for a couple years now.

Sure I am still around. Please drop me a pm with more details. The run of miniature watches was finished and shipped long ago though.

Cool, happy to see you here! Having bigger updates for this project next week as the final cnc parts arrived. This is a long term project but considering the tweaks I could do in the meantime to make this as accurate as I can I could almost call it 2.0 compared to my original concept.

All thanks to the incredible patience of the people on the list, thanks! We are close to the finish line!
