I picked up the new prototype today the collar is really nice. And the hood is fine in the picture abouve its just how i futz it i only realized it after i uploaded the photo's that it was around her shoulders.

All upload some photos of the new collar in a few minutes.

So as of right the as far as i can tell all thats left is i need to find better material. The first stuff wears too fast and the stuff we just tried dosnt drape properly. Other than that i need thinner gauge wire for the hood witch should be easy to get an maybe one last tweak to the upper body when the new material comes in and itll be a wrap.

Yeah, I'm with Dane. Looking very nice overall but the collar needs to sit more like a turtleneck and the hood needs to flow straight down and not over the shoulders, but that part is probably just a futzing issue.

Looking forward to seeing the new material!

I wish I never posted that picture U guys only look at pictures LOL. This is why WIP photos are bad the post abouve i adressed the collour and the hood was just bad futzing.

PLEASE pay no attention to this material or anything else other than the neck/hood!!!

She will make one last adjustment to the neck on the final cut. But this should give u a good idea how its gonna look and with thinner material it will be good to go .

The hood is now functional but the wire i gave her is too thick and makes it hard to futz. I may leave the wire out cause on the first material I really liked how it draped it was just too big. Also in the movie they seem to not pay much attention to how it sits and it kinda reminded me of that. But we will see once i try a thinner gauge.

It looks good to me and it should only benefit from a lower gauge material. Something similar to what Lferigno used on his Vader capes would be perfect.

I was thinking the same thing... that type of material just hangs so nicely.

Also, update on the boots:

I wanted to put my two cents in here and freshen up the post.

I am doing a revision on the Leia boots for everyone and hope to have that ready to show sometime late next week.(about the 14th)

After that if everyone agrees that they will fit the specs...I will start taking orders for them officially.

The material just melts over whatever it touches. It's beautiful material.

I asked him in a pm what the material was and he told me he was going that night to look for more and if it was in white.

Thanks guys now after viewing his tread i have to go update my Vader! I knew this anyway but some of the vaders are really nice.

The material looks good but it looks similar to the white material i used originally. Maybe thiiner? Does it snag on your finger nails or rough spots on your fingers or hands?

Its great for black but the problem with white is I need to be mindful of the wear of the fabric! The stuff i have the first 2 prototypes made from is really nice it just wears quickly And snags esaly if your hands are dry or what not.

Scotty, the vader cape is pretty durable. Not sure about the snagging part but you can cut it and it wont run. Its almost spongy.

Just thought I would bump this thread with Calvcade's one-off custom Leia dress.

Scottb, I think this really illustrates how the simplest of materials can really work well. I hope you're inspired by it. :duff:

This the second attempt using an old t-shirt, which I cut up for the fabric. The drape is much better now and I'm very happy with the result. The hood was a real PITA to do but after a water futz I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Again I'm not doing any kind of run of these, this for my own bash. (i've run out of material, anyway)
