Re: ORDER NOW! JNIX + IRIS + DOGGIEDOC Forrest Gump.
I have to say, this is everything I love about the custom forum and customs in general. I have my share of CKs, RMs, and SPs, but I love when a collection of artists do their best work and pull together a great set. I like the collaboration in critiquing the clothes and other pieces. It's fun after everyone has their pieces to see how they put them together; what bodies, padding, tips etc.
Great work by all Jnix and Doggie Doc and by John for pulling it together and keeping things organized.
Thanks so much! It's awesome to hear things like this because you're exactly right. I love the collaborative aspect of this hobby and it has become a great joy of mine working together with other artists and fellow collectors to make these things all possible.
I absolutely cannot WAIT to show you guys the final prototypes. Everything is really moving now and I'm trying to pull everything together to have it all shown off in less than two weeks.
One major update I wanted to mention. from the beginning I mentioned having the Curious George book recreated in its entirety. Unfortunately, at this scale, it's not possible without leaving the book looking literally like a phone book. When we tested paper thin enough to result in a thinner book, the ink almost bled through and on any given page you could see the image or writing from the previous page. I have attached pictures to show what I am talking about.
As a result I have made the decision to cut a middle portion of the book so that we have screen accuracy with regards to the book's appearance. You will still be able to open the book to about 30 pages worth, and I made sure to cut out a portion of the MIDDLE of the book, so that the main beginning and ending sections are most prominent and visible.
I truly hope this is ok with everyone. In the end I think we will get the appearance we are all after with only a minor compromise.
Thicker paper. The printing looks STELLAR, clear as a bell, but the pages are a bit thicker, resulting in a phone book like appearance.
Thinner paper. The book would be thinner but the pages don't look good with the bleed through.
