Re: Batman Returns glider Hot toys 1/6

Is anyone planning to separate the arms of the batsuit from the main body section so as the arms would be able to raise up higher like the pose in the film? You'd want to own more than one figure to be willing to do that I'm sure. Just curious if anyone has it in mind or has done it to the '89 figure maybe. I wonder does it have any unforeseen consequences on the rubber.

I don't have my Return Bats in yet to test him specifically, but in the pose from the film his arms are only bent at 180 degrees outward, then bent at the elbows to extend up toward the top margins of the glider. I think this pose will be reasonably achievable, especially with the ratcheting system.

Re: Batman Returns glider Hot toys 1/6

That sounds right. Ideally it's how he'd be posed. There is the long-term rubber stretching worry though. That's why I'm wondering if anyone intends to pre-empt it outright by cutting the arms of the suit and separating them from the body. Someone did something like that for the '89 figure, Difabio has posted pics on a few occasions. Theoretically it'd eliminate the worries about displaying the figure with its arms outstretched.

Seriously, this came out amazing! Thank you! You know I'm in. How do you think the JB welding will hold up through shipment and over time in general?

Ya know initially I was a little concerned just because of the lenght of the glider, I thought here would be a lot of stress on it, but this stuff is rock solid. I hate to admit this but I have dropped the glider on multiple occasions as I was fumbling around with pictures and whatnot and not once did anything end up out of place. Not to mention I did the JB Weld awhile back and since then I have manhandled the frame as I was figuring out how to attach the cloth, paint it, etc., and it hasn't moved an inch, nothing even remotely loose.

What's really nice is since I made the frame out of metal there is a bit of give, a bit of spring to it. So it can flex a bit when it is handled which I think is beneficial.

Re: Batman Returns glider Hot toys 1/6

Count me in Doc..hope I can afford it

Awesome! I don't have exact numbers yet but I think I mentioned around the $150 mark previously plus shipping.. We're probably in that ballpark. If that's the ballpark how do people feel? The big issue is really time... Hand cutting all the metal, prepping the metal and then JB Welding it together, hand cutting the cloth, etc... You guys get it:)

I think $150 made more sense to us consumers when the hinged glider was proposed. Being solid state lowers it to about $120 in my opinion. When considering your labor and passion for this project, however, I feel there's no room for us collectors to haggle. I'll pay the price you think is fair.

Hey, man, I value your opinion, though! I haven't done many projects on these board yet, but my motto so far has been working WITH you guys to give you an awesome custom at a fair price. And fair goes for me AND for you... So thank you for the input and I'll certainly take it under advisement. As I have maintained my pricing thoughts aren't set in stone and I'm happy to take in opinions so everyone is happy:). All I want to do is get these into as many hands as possible, as I am very proud of what I was able to build!

Re: Batman Returns glider Hot toys 1/6

That looks excellent with the Returns figure. I like how you even got the little claws on the top of the wings too, from the film.
