Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

I have a feeling that I'll be wanting the King's brother once I get the King in.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

Tonight is full of good news for this figure! Excuse the unprofessional picture... I don't have a fancy camera and I didn't want to clear out a detolf shelf for decent lighting.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

Quick mock-up of the outfit. Really, I shouldn't say quick.
It took about an hour and 20 minutes to get it to fit properly.

All the straps on the vest except 1 were fully tightened(so it can be put on).
When I tried to do the last one, the fit was completely uneven
on one side. So I had to completely loosen the other side and
lace them up at the same time to make sure they looked how
they're intended to look. :lol

Here's every thing except the mods to vest and arm wraps.
Also the boots have not been washed to get closer to the correct color.

Anyways, I really like how it looks, even before weathering. Can't
wait to get the prototype head to throw on there as well.

Also, the color is more brown than these pics. For some reason
with the lighting I have, it picked up more red and I didn't make
any adjustments in photoshop to change that.

We're getting close to complete bad-assery....:yess:

I also didn't like the little strap that kept the axe on. So I changed it to a magnet system.
Let me know what you think. I like it a lot better. It has a magnet under the belt and
1 on the axe handle right below the axe head. Otherwise, it's a pain in the ass to take
the axe out and put it in his hand. Much more user friendly this way.

Of course I am going to paint the magnet on the axe to blend in. You'll just have to super
glue it in the same spot. And because it's painted you'll know what side to put up...:)

And one more thing....this below, is going to take a long long time.....:slap

Ike, he looks beastly. He already has a strong pressence even without all of it done. Looking awesome. Thanks again

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

I do like the magnet system. My only concern would be it looking bad if he's holding the ax. Everything is looking great though! Can't wait to see it weathered up. Your shields should be there Monday, as should everyone else's in the US.

Good luck on the vest. If you guys only knew how much time it takes to make custom stuff. :lol I definitely had over 40 hours on those shields.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

I like the axe too. Now that I seem him in full, i'm thinking about getting a spear too.

I wanted to surprise you, but for the people who don't have one, I'm
modding that Ignite spear to be close to the one he's uses in the show
and including it with your figure.

:wink1:

I'm actually not going to have a spear myself, I going full ax and shield
with a bloody battle stand/dio.

But, I may have Jon make me the King's sword as well.

Should not be able to see it hardly at all after I paint the magnet I'm sending to you to put on the ax.
I may even cover mine with a small piece of leather. It's thin enough, so should work fine.

I'll try it tomorrow and show you the results.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

First attempt at front of vest.
This has real leather patch work and a resin oden's raven
chest emblem painted and weathered.

Though the scaring on the patches didn't show up as much as I want.
And some of the detail on the raven, so touch up work is needed.

Also, I found that sewing each metal ring on really destroyed the overall look.
So I sewed the patches, glue the emblem, then set all the rings at once and glued them on.
Some paint and weathering and it looks a lot more like the actual vest now.
And I've flexed the vest a lot and not one has come loose. Sure, under a macro
lens you might see some flaws, but it really looks great as it sits right now.
I'll try to set it up on a body so you can see what I mean.

What do you think so far?

with some paint and you won't even notice it.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

I think that's looking really good. The weathering on the rings look great. Gluing looks to be the better solution. I'm sure everyone will probably perform some level of additional weathering on their vests. Really happy with how this is coming out. You'll have to provide a little tutorial on the adding of the magnet to the axe.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

I think the vest looks great. My only suggestion would be maybe add more rings and have them closer together maybe.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

On another note. Received my shield today. Fellows, this figure is getting real serious. Amazing work from everyone so far.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

Hey, Davinator65 contacted me and I guess some of you have contacted him about Jon(full metal)
doing a more accurate spear. If that's so, then I will stop modding the rest I have and you guys
can just get it from Fullmetal then. I believe he said it would be $100. Contact Davinator65 for
more info.

Thanks

Ike

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

Didnt even know you were including one. Guess I missed that post. I'd gladly take yours instead.

Re: [KING OF HISTORY] 1/6 custom figure, Final stages

I definitely want one of the spears if the first 5 are still getting them. :)
