I think the neckless heads were a good idea, just the bodies chosen were not. Look at the picture these were based on - their shirts were pretty open. One of my biggest issues with Tuco and Angel Eyes is that you have to keep their shirts closed despite them being open most of the film.

To be completely honest I am disappointed.
This film is in my personal top 10 favorites which I guess set my expectations a little high and the sculpts unpainted look amazing. Just not feeling these paint apps at all.

Unpainted sculpts :

The pic of the full figures looks photoshopped.
At any rate, the poor tailoring of Butch's jacket and the pencil necks are probably making these look worse than they actually are.
Are there more pics?

They both look better from angles that de-emphasize the length of the neck or in pictures where the shirt is more closed at the collar. In others the head-neck joint looks quite bad because the width of the head where it attaches to the neck is so much wider than the neck--almost like they're bobble heads.

I'm still buying the set despite those issues.

The paint is meant to put life into the sculpt while keeping the likeness or sometimes even Increasing the likeness. While I agree with some
Of you guys saying Redford doesn't look too bad he still looks way off when you compare him to the unpainted sculpt shown weeks ago.
Butch almost looks like a different sculpt or the original heavily modded but I'm sure it's just a paint issue.

I also mentioned to Denny that Butch's holster and belt should be a dark/chocolate brown.

Like I said in my post last night, just take a look for comparison at the cheeks and jawline of Butch. There is the issue to me.

thanks for the suggestions.

I will get those things done : The Butch jacket, and the belt and holsters color(to dark brown), the revised painting for butch(shade more, it is due to lighting somehow but we can manage it more effectively at final, once I get the sample back in Feb, will modify too)

and of course the body, I will change the body again to narrow shoulder body.

Paints definitely need improvement. Body swaps for sure. I think Butch's hair looks too long and the hat looks too big. Tailoring needs improvement, but Id also recommend having these weathered or at least offering as an option. At the very least I will pick up the heads and maybe have these worked on down the road

Yeah, I bought this anyway in good faith that Denny will deliver. The more I look at Butch the more I think that it is just a wonky paint job. Can't wait to check these off the list.

Liking them both - if improvements are made, even more ;-)

Favorite is the Redford cowboy.

Is it me, or could it be that the Redfords Iris eyes are painted rather small?
Maybe just a tad bigger?
(His eyes are sculpted squinted, but looks like iris is painted now more in proportion for open eyes)

I hope you would keep the sales thread open until we can see the revised/final versions. I purchased Road Fighter and it's still being tweaked and that's definitely not how I like to buy figures. May I suggest releasing the "pre-final" versions of figures, wait for feedback, make the alterations, then open up the sales thread with pics of the final versions.

Any Updates on this? anyone know if Denny will be sharing photos of the revised paint job for butch he talked about? I'd really like to order these but i feel shaky about purchasing something before i see proof of the resolved issues.
