Custom 1/4 Cave Troll

Hey there!

I just wanted to show off a project I am commissioning. Not many people visit the customs forum so I don't get to geek out with enough Lord of the Rings fans over this there... particularly with the S&F forum being down.

Check this out!





This beast is going to be 31" tall. I wanted more monsters to go with Sauron PF and the others once I managed to track them down. It will be one solid polystone sculpt, except for the head. The dangling chain is going to be metal and the loin cloth will be made with leather.

I've never commissioned a piece before, but found some really great people to work with on this and I can't wait to see these pictures become a reality!

What do you guys think? I love this pose. Would love some input so I can make sure this thing is perfect

looks awesome, question though can we see work of those who are doing it? most philipino companioes cant sculpt for crap and make it very cheap.

It definitely won't be made cheap. I vetted the company's past work. I have an email list I'm putting together for interested parties and will post photo updates of the sculpt and such as it comes along.

Any rough estimate on the shipping charge?

Shipping is very hard to estimate until the project is done. If it's too large and heavy we have plans to maybe break it up into separate boxes to save on shipping.

Also, you can have yours made to order in the sense of having it more solid or more hollow. So you could save on shipping by asking for a thinner cast (never brittle thin of course) or if you wanted could have him totally solid cast which would obviously make it much heavier.

Though this will likely be a dimensional weight piece.

I had a large box with a venom statue shipped from the same place to CA and I think it was about $200.

I imagine it will be similar to getting one of the heavier XM pieces.

I'd prefer a Solid Statue with weight to it.
I have ordered Many piece's from the Philippines and their Shipping rates were always reasonable.

I prefer solid too. Absorbing some more for shipping is a one time pain. Having a statue that is huge and super solid is a life time joy

We will find the right balance between keeping it light enough so shipping isn't outrageous, but heavy enough so people feel like it isn't hollow cast. I look to SS gladiator hulk as a piece that really struck a nice balance. It's big, it's heavy. It's not completely solid but it feels very sturdy and deserving of it's size.

I also have XM Hulk which is totally solid and it's almost too dang heavy. A real pain to move around. Both have their merits.
