MAJOR UPDATE TIME!



Looking for opinions on the proportions and sizes of muscles and fat and such. Going to tweak the pose to be a bit more of an action pose... More weight in the right leg like he is about to strike. Hammer will point down in right hand, etc.
But for now need to lock down the sizing of everything. What do you think?

I think it's pretty spot on except the arms could be a touch longer and the he may be a bit to muscly. Good size but maybe add some fat onto them to make them less well defined.

Thoughts? All criticism appreciated!

The Leg position needs to be changed slightly. It looks too much like he is squatting.

I agree with your points. More weight on the right leg. What you said about the arms and the muscles is spot on. I think the best way for the sculptor to get the perfect proportions is to study the old SSW Cave troll.

BTW, a note about this, the EX has been changed. EVERY cave troll will have the screaming head. The other head has been scrapped since no one seemed to care about it.

The EX, which is not available anymore, is smashed pieces of Balin's tomb and 2 of Gimli's axes as accessories for the base. Only taking interest right now for the rest of them, no orders are being taken. If you have facebook, check out halimaw's collector group. Updates are being done there, of which there have been many. Forgot to update this thread!

That's Really Disappointing.
I Only ordered the Ex because of the Switch Out Head.
I pretty much have No interest in the piece's of tomb or the ax at all.
Really Bummed now.

As much as I liked the screaming head, the closed mouth switch out was a nice option too. I am not on facebook so I don't get those updates, maybe I should join?

I'm going to look into still having the calm head made for the EX, but how it went down was like this...

We determined the screaming head was perfect and really made the statue. I didn't anticipate that and I don't feel an EX should make the statue. EXes should be a nice bonus. So I got some opinions on flipping the heads as the EX, with the calm head being the EX instead and the general response I got was "well then it's a pointless EX because we'd only ever use the screaming head". Balin's tomb and the axes were suggested to me and I liked the idea and so did most people so we went with it. I didn't intend to cancel the calm head, but when I got the response that it didn't seem to matter to anyone I figured might as well. But since some people do like it, I'll see if it can be made in addition to the Balin's tomb and axes. The price of this thing is already pretty low considering what it is... similar custom statues that are half the size cost almost as much, so it all depends on if it can be done without the manufacturers incurring a loss.

ANd yes... join facebook is anything for the statue groups. Much more active than the forums, particularly for custom pieces.

I would pay an Additional Fee for the Extra Calm Head.
Maybe just offer it as an Option to anyone that Ordered it if they are willing to Buy the Extra Calm Head?
Then just keep the Bonus as the Tomb and the Axes and there would be no additional Fee unless you Actually want the Calm Head?
Clearly Not everyone wants it.

Love the Cave Troll, I'm CTPF 9 from "the flame of Udun forum" and hopefully I'll finish making my payments in a couple of months, just wanted you to remind you that I'm still interested in the exclusive edition if by some miracle the oportunity to acquire one opens up!

Also wanted to ask you if you and your team would ever consider making a life size Balrog Bust like the one that once was produced by Gentle Giant in a limited edition, maybe even bigger??? I would love one to display over my fireplace in my LOTR themed mancave!
