Re: Custom 1/6 Street Diorama Bases

looking good. the attention to detail is amazing. i don't even notice there's a manhole covers there.

Thank you! The manholes will be for the "Hit me!" diorama bases.

The "We got you!" diorama bases will get the typical arrow:

Think it will be nice if both dios get their own "center detail".

By the way, I sorted up the overwiew on the first page a little.

These are looking pretty nice man. I'd defiantly be in for one once you get these going. You ever considered doing a little street dio for the opening shot of the joker in TDK.

Have thought about it but I saw it has been done before by "kj23" so I want to repect that.

He hasn't been active for a while though, so If he doesn't do them anymore I'll considere doing such dios later on, I see some space for improvements. :wink1:

Re: Custom 1/6 Street Diorama Bases

Will the snowy base detolf sized version cost the same as the non snowy one? Interested in one of these for my detolf in the distant future.. First I need to find a backdrop for my Batman vs Bane shelf though, would make no sense to end up with a snowy road if I can only find a non snowy backdrop ;)

Re: Custom 1/6 Street Diorama Bases

With some rubble or debris, these could be great for an Avengers battle display as well.

Nice idea to make something for the Avengers, too. :hi5: Can't promise but I'll see what time allows.

The snowy bases will cost slightly more but all prices are estimated atm, will list concrete rates soon.
No worries about the backdrops by the way, think I'll make something suitable. :)

So you will actually make backdrops too? Since I've been looking my *** off for a backdrop in the style of the final Bane / Batman battle in the snowy Gotham city, but all pictures I find are either low resolution or have Batman or Bane in them already..

If you do plan to make a backdrop for this aswel, I am VERY interested to say the least..

Yes, for the detolfs I have optional backdrops in mind as these will add more depth to the actually quite small areas.
One can get so much more out of all these genius figures with a nice environment.

I want to keep the backdrops stylized, so that they don't "disturb" the scene. Talking about a snowy base for this fight, I think a backdrop would be nice without any other characters. Think they would look odd in 2d. :lol

Indeed it would :D I'm starting to give up on my search for one so I really am interested in how this turns out ;)

I actually sent him a Pm awhile back seeing if he still makes them but he never responded. Regardless Im in for a couple of these once you get them completed.

Sounds good guys! :hi5:

Concerning the "Street corner/ Opening shot", I'll keep this in the pipeline and if he's still not back then, I'll probably give it a try in my own way.

Actually wanted to start painting already, but time at home is rare due to my job atm but I'm happy I completed all layouts for the small bases with all details, hope you like it!
Deterioration at the road marks will be added of course, while painting:

Updated pics below and on page 1.

"Big Base" concepts are 90% finished:

Made some tests and photos to see that everything fits as designed.
Used some of them to make drafts, giving you preview impressions of possible setups:

Please let me know what you think so far!

Thanks buddy :hi5: !!

Have a basic question to all intersted and would be happy about any suggestion:

Looking at several dios that were made, many of them seam to use small "tricks" in scale and alignment,
in a way idealized to give a nice impression on a reduced room, which can be nice.

Try to work things out as perfectly scaled to 1/6 as possible,
which I did at the Bat-Bunker Dio and so far for the Street Dios, too.

Now herer's the point: :lol

Thought integrating a curbstone and sidewalk would really be a nice idea
but it would either mean that the base would need an at least doubled depth
as it wouldn't make sense to put the sidewalk on the second traffic lane
or one could waive the yellow median strip and add a sidewalk instead. :dunno

What would you say?
