Re: Custom 1/6 Street Diorama Bases - pics from Page 1 - 6
You work is fantastic! If only I could afford it at this time (income has been so slow this year
). (...)
Thanks a lot man, I know that problem. :1-1:
All the more I appreciate you took the time to leave a constructive comment for this project anyhow. :clap
(...) As for your question - I think you should dismiss 100% screen accuracy and go for an option where a curbstone and partial sidewalk is visible, also adding a post with street and traffic lights. That would be just perfect!
But it maybe be better for your confirmed customers to give their vote on it.
It's an important aspect I'm still thinking about that an in a way "idealized" setup that makes it possible to get more details on a limited space can possibly be more reasonable than an absolute accurate reconstruction. But on the other hand I like accurate stuff. :lol
Made several concepts for this but scaling down proportions or leaving out central elements somehow looked odd imo.
Still I always liked the idea of adding the sidewalk and possibly street lamps and made some concepts for that as well.
As this street lamps will be huge (even in 1/6) they'd be pricey and it will take some steps to actually make them, so probably quite some time after the actual dio bases.
All this led me to make the whole sidewalk modular, as a possible option to add, so at this point I'd like to let a cat out of the bag:
It's all not the final word but I think it would work well. Please lmk what you think so far!
The street lamps design took a lot of time already so I hope this teaser is a good and welcome excuse for the recent delay of updates in this thread
.
They also have their own thread now:

Great work on the manhole cover might be interested in one
Thanks man! Don't know if I'll make any loose manholes but please pm me again when I start making the dio bases. :hi5:
