Re: Custom 1/6 Street Diorama Bases

Personally I'd rather have the curb instead of the median stripe but you know what look I'm shooting for. Either way though I'm still interested.

Re: Custom 1/6 Street Diorama Bases

The more I stay on this forum and see your creations the more I wanna kick myself for not getting on here sooner. I:duff:duff definitely would like to have the Hit Me version.

Thank you so much! You'll get one! :hi5:

Sorry for the many days no update on this but my miniature custom projects took and still take some more after hours than expected
but I want to let you know that the project is still uptodate and I'll show the finished protos soon.

Here is one more pic I made of my wip 1/6 manhole covers in between:

They're laser-cut and movie accurate.
Hope you like them so far! :yess:

Amazing that´s some real good dios :thud:

Re: Custom 1/6 Street Diorama Bases | Updates on p.4

Thanks buddy :hi5: !!

Have a basic question to all intersted and would be happy about any suggestion:

Looking at several dios that were made, many of them seam to use small "tricks" in scale and alignment,
in a way idealized to give a nice impression on a reduced room, which can be nice.

Try to work things out as perfectly scaled to 1/6 as possible,
which I did at the Bat-Bunker Dio and so far for the Street Dios, too.

Now herer's the point: :lol

Thought integrating a curbstone and sidewalk would really be a nice idea
but it would either mean that the base would need an at least doubled depth
as it wouldn't make sense to put the sidewalk on the second traffic lane
or one could waive the yellow median strip and add a sidewalk instead. :dunno

What would you say?

You work is fantastic! If only I could afford it at this time (income has been so slow this year :( ).

As for your question - I think you should dismiss 100% screen accuracy and go for an option where a curbstone and partial sidewalk is visible, also adding a post with street and traffic lights. That would be just perfect!
But it maybe be better for your confirmed customers to give their vote on it.

Great work on the manhole cover might be interested in one;)

I would definitely be interested in one of these. I tried creating my own but I didn't have enough resources at my disposal to get it right.

One thing I would say is that the street should look worn and used with many imperfections. Something gritty plus two street lamps would be perfect for Joker.

Thanks a lot man, I know that problem. :1-1:
All the more I appreciate you took the time to leave a constructive comment for this project anyhow. :clap

It's an important aspect I'm still thinking about that an in a way "idealized" setup that makes it possible to get more details on a limited space can possibly be more reasonable than an absolute accurate reconstruction. But on the other hand I like accurate stuff. :lol

Made several concepts for this but scaling down proportions or leaving out central elements somehow looked odd imo.

Still I always liked the idea of adding the sidewalk and possibly street lamps and made some concepts for that as well.

As this street lamps will be huge (even in 1/6) they'd be pricey and it will take some steps to actually make them, so probably quite some time after the actual dio bases.
All this led me to make the whole sidewalk modular, as a possible option to add, so at this point I'd like to let a cat out of the bag:

It's all not the final word but I think it would work well. Please lmk what you think so far!

The street lamps design took a lot of time already so I hope this teaser is a good and welcome excuse for the recent delay of updates in this thread ;).
They also have their own thread now:

Thanks man! Don't know if I'll make any loose manholes but please pm me again when I start making the dio bases. :hi5:

Thanks man! No problem, I'm also curious to see his Hit Me! Joker, you can imagine how much I'd like to get one for some dio pics but I couldn't pm him, too. So Neo, if you read this, please pm us! :yess:

Can't wait to show you some updates on this project soon. Didn't find much time in between, as in the weeks before but I'm happy I could continue working on this now. Another good news is: The street lamps will become realilty. Wasn't sure for some time but now there has been so much work in them, that there's no way back. :lol

Let me share this small teaser with you, and be prepared:

Hi, yes it's possible and it's WIP. :hi5: Got some requests on something suitable to go along with the Avengers figures, so I'll show something with some debris look as well.
