Tony, I respect the hell out of you and what you do so I hope you don't take offense from anything I say. I just wanted to know of I would be getting the 2.0 if mine hadn't shipped yet. That's all.

I have the Tony Meis cape but the sewn lines don't seem to line up with the scallops without futzing and folding the cape. Should these line up automatically when the cape is put on, and if so does that mean that mine is different? Are there any tips for getting these to line up properly?

(Eg, the lines go through the middle of the arcs and don't join up with the points. But if I fold the cape over along the lines, I can get the alignment correct, but this is difficult)

I didn't know the capes were sticky before I paid. No one told me this. Now there is a 2.0 that has better material??

- longer
- smoother surface, but still has the texture
- bigger ark from corner to corner to lower the length of the ark

Regards to DX09 Custom cape

Crystal and I would like to thank everyone for critique on our cape, we really take these advice and opinion very seriously. Its part of our philosophy Kaizen to keep on improving our quality and design. Either more or less people like the cape to be shorter or remain the same, we always believe there are more room for improvement. So 2.0 is confirmed, and to make this fair for everyone, here is what we offer

* for anyone who has purchase DX09 custom capes with us from the past, we'll be offering major discount. Contact us thru email for further information.

* We currently have 16 original length capes available, will be offering them until they are gone.

*2.0 will be at a new price since we plan on making it better with some new technique added to it.

DX09 2.0 cape photos will be available shortly. We are aiming for....
- better drape
- less additive but still remain the same quality
- revise pattern
- revise length

Hope everyone are interested with us on this. I know we can't please everyone, but we do our best to make things better :hi5:

I'll be very honest, the change isn't dramatic, and only a few corner gotten the extra length added. I'm very sure there will still be people picking on something here and there. I honestly like the shorter one, but with this 2.0, shorter can easily be adjust by pulling the cape higher at the neck area.

So be happy with what we made and what we offers from here on.

See? He is P'ed Off! And is that really a surprise?

I have no complaint at all about Tony and Crystal. They are clearly brilliant at what they do, so T and C...please understand that this is not in anyway directed at you two. Rather, it is directed at those that heaved and moaned about the supposed shortness of the v1 cape, and how it looks against the v2.

So, am I the only one that thinks that the v2 cape is now too long, with the points of the scallops dragging in the floor at the back in at least two areas?

Seriously, people have complained about a practically non existent fault, more-or-less strong-armed Tony to make more fabric (again), rework and re-cut the pieces, and all for a cape which, though done all on good faith and a tremendous desire to please his customer base, is just a fraction too long!

I thank Tony and Crystal for their tremendous work ethic, and brilliant products (both v1 and for the effort of the v2), as the v1 my first ever custom garment purchase.

But sadly, the rest displays the very definition of the ultimate :slap and an object lesson in not biting the hand that feeds you.

It was only a matter of time until some sort of rift developed over this 'short cape syndrome'.

There seems to be divided opinion on the matter.

I think it's a tricky one: people want accuracy and are paying a lot for these things (I'd have bought a V1 but I can't justify that price for a cape) whereas, Tony doesn't NEED to create a longer version; he doesn't need to sell these capes at all.

It's a tough one and I can see both sides or the argument. However, the demand for accuracy, as we know, is extremely high on this forum so by supplying a custom piece you are running the risk of unhappy customers but then again those buying a custom piece run the risk of it never being exactly what they want.

If people thought it was too short, then it could be argued that they shouldn't have bought it in the first place. However, if the capes were being sold for $10 then I don't think this problem would have reached its current level.

Tough one.

You have the cape YOU WANT and you are completely satisfied with it, what is the problem with other people getting the cape THEY WANT? If you like the cape you have at the length it is, why is the existence of an even longer cape even an issue for you? It should be irrelevant to your satisfaction. You're not missing out. In fact, from your opinion, you already own the best version of the cape, right?

Our goal is to make a good cape before 2.0 actually releases, now that comes Down to a few points

- we want to make sure every cape we make is better than the previous one

- before we actually complete the 2.0, no cape is being release. Last thing I want to hear is.... I want that instead of this, :lol

- Lets put these valuable comments on the cape interested thread instead. And also please provide some really good images from the movie. With all the time talking and making opinion, some body can really help me by attaching some good official movie promo images so I know what I'm aiming or. Because instead of Crystal and I kept on reading this, we rather be working on it and make the cape better.

- last, critique only make us better and we never thought our design has reach its limits. So lets help each other freaks, I'm sure we know 89 Batman better than anyone out there right? Lets make a good one together :hi5:

Too Long, Too Short, you do the adjustment by how you position from the neck k :nana:
