Re: Death Dealer 1/6 CLOSED

thanks.
purse?..........if your asking if the chain mail was from a purse that would be a no. the chain mail was from a butchers glove.
i like the length of it but if i keep it that long it will cover the shin armor & that aint gonna happen. i may split the mail in two so the legs can be seen.

How heavy is the chain mail? Any worry about him wilting over time?

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 CLOSED

Hey shocktrooper, sent you a PMa few days ago....I had totally forgot I signed onto this list...I'm definitely still interested, is there a set available?
Hey mate, I cast them as they are paid for, I have 4 sets of the metal blades left then I shall be concentrating on my next projects

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Hey all, I'm ready to do the 2nd run so if you are on the list can you please PM me...If your not on the list but interested please PM me and I may be able to offer any outstanding spots.
thanks again

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

The chain will need to be split if you want him to eventually ride a horse aswell. hows it look above the waist?
split the chainmail tonight........looks pretty good but still need to take some in around the shoulders & neck area. will post some wips in the next few days.

it is kinda heavy j..........but the body is strong enough to hold it all up. i am trimming off bits and pieces here and there to get rid of the bulk & it's getting lighter and lighter as i do. but no worries on the added weight as of yet.
damn this thing is bad ass & fun to work on...........:lecture

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

making some skulls right now, for the base and maybe to hang off the armor somewhere, probably just eye socket- brow & nose pieces :monkey3

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

a few wips..............still a long way to go
Picture018-4.jpg

buckle/strap system

Picture022-4.jpg

going to give everything a black wash again after dulcoting the entire fig.

Picture035-3.jpg

still not sure if i'm going to keep the chest plate or make another using the plates shock sent. i didn't know exactly where to put everything so i hung a few plates on his belt like maybe hip armor?

Picture037-4.jpg

love the belt buckle........i put a snap on the inside so it can removed. you can see on the mail where it needs to be trimmed in a few places to even it out but i probably wont do that until the very last. also debating on removing that body suit. i'm trying for more of a demon/beast look than human. tons to do.....:thud:

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Looking good man... I had zero time to work on him this week so looking forward to tinkering with him some.

I really love the look you achieve with the metal paints... kind of like IG-88 it looks like he's made out of lead, looks awesome :rock And I'm totally stealing your strap system; I have the same stuff (almost) that you showed in the PM so I think I'm good to go.

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Thats is rerally looking great barryo the chain is awsome!

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Coming together well guys, the great belt I ended up gluing the great belt to the chest plate....top edge of the belt touches the belly button then the little piece of sculpted chain under the belt & then the fur under that . I also ended up gluing leather on the back of the shield & the Shoulder armour, all mine is permanent now so no falling to bits every time I move it. with just the axe handle to make and painting of the axe head. On the shoulder armor I have the edge so it points straight up as a neck protector.

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Hey guys, thought I'd post this skull I've been making looking to offering it for $5each + postage, has a separate jaw bone, won't say it's anatomically correct but it's pretty funky to go with DD

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Got some painting done tonight... it's a real fun kit to work on.
looks great j...........love that you went with a copper look for accents. looking at the painting that seems to be more accurate. i might repaint a few of the pieces like that too.

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

your dd looks fantastic shock. i was also thinking of some kind of necklace as well. the original painting looks as if he may have one of sorts. i guess that could be fudged. and as far as your skull goes, it looks awesome. for myself i'm set for skulls & will be working on a single figure stand that will incorporate them..............that is until i get the horse issue worked out..............:panic:

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Thanks mate, my thing with painting is I like to paint shadows in, my necklace is simply a bags tag trimmed to size with some tooth shapes on it. heres the back of my shield.

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Looking good man... I'll definitely also be copying how you have the back plate hangning above the fur. I was trying to figure out how to make that work and now I know.

Like Barryo I'm set for skulls at the moment. But I'll probably take you up on a few when I get the Thulsa Doom set. Never can have too many skulls :lecture

Thanks man, I really didn't have much of a plan going into it. I had about 6 or so bottles of different metallic paints and just went for it :lol

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

No worries with the skull, I'm going to make a few for my base & half skulls hanging off the belt & maybe a few stuck on a post, I've got a HT body on the way so Thulsa will getting more love soon....I will be making the Thulsa pieces a different way, they will be made with 2 piece molds so the pieces will be more solid and easier to make

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run

Sweet! I keep seeing bits of the Thulsa armor in your shots... so glad to see it's still out and about :rock

Re: Death Dealer 2nd Run
