Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" WIP - (1 place left)

Shock i can pressure cast these if for if u would like to take a different approach other than roto!
Thanks for the offer scottyb, but I like to get all the practice I can get, learn something new everytime. ie : the deathdealer is the 1st time i've created a single object "the helmet" with the horn and spike as separate pieces to be cast. When I go to the supply store next time I might poke my head around the pressure pot area and see whats cooking.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" WIP - (1 place left)

I would prefer solid cast. And there isn't any reason to have a removable helm.

The only reasons I was thinking too create hollow is I could use an existing head as the connection allowing better poseability & also saves on resin & shipping rates too as I did with my starkiller helmet......now where's that postman :impatient:

Started to ad details to the shield

shock, would it be too late in the game to turn the horns in a tad towards the helmet? was looking at the ref pics some more and noticed on the original DD pic the horns do curve inward more. if not that's fine too as either way it looks awesome & captures the image rather well. just a thought........:)

Unless its different down under. U may have a hard time finding parts locally/for a good price. Everything I got for my set up was online. Except for a few fittings and gauges!

Let me know if U want me to point U in the right direction? It was a lot of trial and error getting it set up with all the different fittings.

no not too late, they are both separate from the helm and was thinking of making them thinner and smoother, in the pics they seem to be clean & smooth, I let the paint be the detail i think. The belt late may need to be a bit bigger as well depends if I'm leaning to the barbarian or more armored version

as far as the helmet goes............are you going to drill them to fit the adapter or leave that up to us. like you i'm going to use the kaustic muscle body which is supposed to be ht compatible. damn i wish those bodies would ship. i have a few coming for various projects.

When I do mine I'll make the call then as I've never done a connector, if it's easy I'll do it, as far as the body mine was posted last week apparently.

As you can see on the last pic my daughter has been rather busy with the chain :wink1:

It is looking awesome. I would like to see a photo of the head sculpt on a body to get a overall feel to it. Thanks

Believe me I'm keen to test fit as soon as the body arrives :impatient: I'll set it up and take a few pics

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" WIP - (2 places left)

If you do a solid resin head its pretty easy for us to drill it and fit it to the body. The other thing I've seen done is for the neck socket before baking it and have the pour hole on the top of the head. This works well to one reduce the amount of resin used and two reduce air bubble issues.

that's awesome work your daughter has done. is she glad to be a part of dad's project? i'm assuming by the wink that you may have had to finish what she started..........:lol

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" WIP - (2 places left)

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" WIP - (2 places left)

Ok received the body & here's the 1st test shots, please note the helm is sitting higher because it has not been drilled out it's also sitting a centimetre in front, overall though happy with the proportions

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" WIP - (2 places left)

Wow, I think it looks good on the body. Looking forward to it. ;)

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" WIP - (2 places left)

I just drilled out the helm so it fits on and had slight mishap, but all repaired, just got to go to the dentist (ouch) but will update new pics when I get back
