Re: He's An Ugly Little Spud - Finalizing Paint Master

These aren't the final paints. Admittedly this ones a little dark looking but it also has none of the yellowing or highlights I'm plan on. I'm going for a more realistic paint up so it won't be neon green but maybe a muted lime like the puppet/suit. I'll post another update in a few days.

I'm liking the more realistic look even though in most scenes Slimer is bright green. The colors you used work well with the figure and it doesn't look toyish like the other Slimers out. If your adding more highlights it'll be even better, looking forward to the next update Riggs:)

I appreciate you guys hanging in there with me. I'm definitely trying to avoid it looking too toy like. So I'm actually doing several test figures in search of the best paint app.

Tweaking a lot of colors. This is a very basic look at the moment. Not much in the way of shading or highlights. Just wanted you all to see I've brought the green up notch.

Re: He's An Ugly Little Spud - Finalizing Paint Master

It's been a roller coaster ride privately. Struggles with my crappy camera, crappy airbrush, and crappy everything else has made this little guy a challenge. I'm charging double next time. lol I'm kidding of course. I just recently learned an airbrush "trick" I had gotten from countless professionals had been causing all my paint related issues. That's now fixed and I can happily report I no longer spend the better part of my day fighting the airbrush.

It's important to me that I give you guys the very best ugly little spud I can. That's partly why this is taking so long. I think I'm on my fifth or sixth version of the paint application and I feel they improve a little with each one. If this latest rendition turns out you'll start to see a bit more movement with the project.

As always, thanks for hanging in there. It'll be worth it in the end.

Re: He's An Ugly Little Spud - Halloween Update!

That color is an improvement but it still seems far too dark and dull to me. In the movie Slimer was a bright green. I know the fact that the movie Slimer was kind of transparent and glowing makes it hard to replicate with paint but it still seems too dark. Other than that though the sculpt looks fantastic. I appreciate all the work you are putting into this to make it just right!

How's this?

In hand he'd be a bit duller but this is the look he'd have under standard cabinet lighting. On a side note this only lacks detailing of the pop marks and moles.

Set aside five bodies that needed some work. Cleaned up the remaineder and based them. Arms are up next.

Re: He's An Ugly Little Spud - Base Paint

I'll have to cast a few more arms but here's the first set base coated. Second sets gotten a coat and will get a few more when it's above freezing. lol
