So I have some ambitious thoughts for attempting to make Jor-els battle armpor for the Hot Toys Jor-el. Don't ask me how, yet... I have some ideas that I will be attempting, hopefully soon. Just curious if there would be interest in this sort of custom. I know he wasn't a gangbusters seller but I recall seeing a lot of people talking about how much they would like seeing the battle armor on him.

Definitely interested, subscribed. ;)

Awesome! I just ordered a few things and am planning on starting the process this week. I have no timetable as I am sort of figuring out what all I need to do still, but I will be sure to update as I go.

Take your time!

Also, if you haven't posted a link to this thread in the DC Jor-El thread yet, that would probably be a good idea as I'm unsure how many collectors go digging through this section of the board. ;)

Oh, thanks for the input, I will be sure to do that!

A little proof of concept work, I guess. Decided to start on the chest shield symbol. So many details! Super Sculpey doesn't really photograph well, unfortunately...It's definitely messy but much less so than the picture makes it look.

Just realized how my symbol seemed a little tall. I literally squished it flatter and it looks much better!

A little update. Unfortunately my Jor-el body did not arrive today so I couldn't start what I wanted to start. However, I decided to start a lower leg as more proof of concept. I am scaling it to work so that if it turns out well I will keep it and add it to the actual custom.

I was also able to get the shoulder plates done by using the plates on a Jor-el statue I am using as reference. The statues shoulder plates are oddly way too large for the body and so will fit directly on the Hot Toys Jor-el. Hey, anything that makes the process easier, right?

Looking good, just tell me where to sign bud, I'm in.

Just keep your eyes on the thread:). I am not going to go into a ton of detail about having these made for people until I am a bit further into the project. Rest assured, if you like the final product, though, I will have it worked out to get one to you and anyone else who is interested! Jor-el body arrives today so I can really start some work on this guy!

Jor-el body arrived today. Ok... now I'm getting excited about this project! I got home from work really late today so I only had a little while to get things going... but hopefully things really take off here!

I'm loving it. I am going to go ahead and say consider me #1 on the confirm list :yess: Also, what do you think about doing a Kryptonian armor Zod? I'd definitely be down for that as well, could possibly team up with Creg Customs for the Sculpt, he'd have minor adjustments to make from his current sculpt he is producing!!

If this turns out well then I would love to do that! I should have a lot of time to work this weekend and next week, so hopefully I'll have a lot more progress in just a short time. This has been so fun to do so far I'm glad I have captured a few people's interest.

Lots of work done today! Slow going but I am loving it so far. I hate spending so much time on something hidden beneath a cape, but it looks so cool!

The upper body armor is more or less completed! I have baked the Sculpey and formed some breaks so I can get the armor on and off. Overall I'm trhilled. Onto the legs, I think!
