Crikey. And I thought I was reasonably up to speed on what goes on around here. 24 pages of miss?! :slap

Yeah I saw that too. I think he confirmed in an answer to that post that it is indeed Alfred.

Alfred? Wow!...another iminime offering that I'll almost certainly have to own....:panic::panic::panic:

I never set aside the time to catch up on The Wire. Everyone I say that to basically says I need to get my head checked and I have to catch up ASAP. When everyone was hot on The Wire, I was too sucked into these crooked ass mofo's to break free:

Would love a Vic Mackey on the shelf

A Vic mackey would be awesome, the shield still stands as one of my top 5 shows ever.

Awesome show, I was hooked. Unfortunately it got overshadowed bigtime by The Wire so less people got into it. I couldn't have Mackey without Lem and Shane

I've only seen bits and pieces of the Shield, but I'm pretty sure they are very different types of shows.

True, they were very different when you get into it. But they both ran simultaneously from '02-'08 and shared the same basic premise: cops vs. gangstas. That's why I think that The Wire stole some of The Shield's thunder. But the popular opinion was always that The Wire was the better show anyway.

Wire is really more gangsters vs. gangsters while the cops, lawyers, and politicians deal with the hard realities of bureaucratic inertia and political power struggles :lol but I see what you're saying.

I watched both shows and IMO The Wire was great the first three seasons, but really fell off in season four and season five was really bad. It's like the producers and writers gave up on it.

The Shield was good from start to finish. Vic was a badass, Shane was a screwup, Lem was a crybaby and Ronnie...well, what can be said about Ronnie other than he was "around" from time to time.
