I thought Peter Botright, who became the owner of Wested, designed the original Raiders jacket? The Hero jacket as it came to be known.

True, the history of the jacket took an interesting path.

However, the zipper in Raiders was brass in color painted silver to resemble nickle (though there are shots in the movie where it changes from brass to nickel). The thing about Wested is despite being the original makers of the Raiders jacket, they're not as accurate as one might think.

I could be wrong but wasn't it the other way around it was nickle and painted brass but because of the shooting conditions the paint came off and showed the nickle color? Again i could be wrong.

Perhaps Iris should be looking for a plastic zip rather than a metal one. They seem to come in much smaller teeth sizes. My One Sixth Supermad toys Six Million bionic man has areally small plastic zip on his track suit.

Based on my reading it was brass painted nickel. At this point it doesn't particularly matter though

Right well i can honestly say i have let iris know about the feedback on the zipper. I think the reason for it being a bit oversized is due to it having a functional zipper. So hopefully she has better options that are in scale.

I would think she does. Her Road Warrior set used zippers that functioned and were in scale (and took a silver sharpie quite nicely might I add!).

The zip supermad use is tiny! Admittedly though, whilst functional, it is really hard to do up if it's been undone. Still, seems the majority of us here won't be doing it up anyway.

I guess you likely couldn't get it in a nickel colour, but I'm not sure how much that matters honestly imho if it were available in a brown, it'd look closer to the brass colour

Jacket looks really good to me, although I agree about the large zipper.

I'd be a bit concerned about taking in the shoulders too much though, since a lot of us may be using Solo bodies with slightly broader shoulders. So I hope that's still being taken into account. And even on the Raiders jacket the seams did hang a bit off of his shoulder. Although I realize in 1/6 the material may not allow us to futz it the way we see below, so narrowing might be the easier solution...

I could just ask her to do the creases or weathering as she has done that for the road warrior run.

I haven't seen that but it (weathering) sounds good to me. Do you have a pic of what you're referring to ?

Best way to tell if the sleeve is short is to have Iris wrinkle up the sleeve for a picture -- that solves two questions: can the material wrinkle nicely AND will those wrinkles make the sleeves look short.

Ok so here is the word from iris on the zipper. Reason she chose the one we see is that it is a little bigger then normal because that's the only one with the color. So she showed me the only three options she has. The white one which is like her road warrior set, the current one and a black one.

True, I've seen silver sharpie mentioned here before. Not sure I'd bother but it's an option for those who want to.

I could ask her if there are more but so far those are she gave me. Update went ahead and asked if she can find the brass color zip that yunsil used. That might as well be included
