Do the buckles on the back work? If they do the jacket could be tightened around the body a bit more. I think from the front the length looks about right but from the back it looks slightly too long. If that makes any sense!

Still, saying all that I would be happy with that jacket if that is what was sent out.

Is there any way Iris could send you some of the WIP clothes so that you could mess around with them yourself Luis and post some pictures? I think that would be a massive help.

The jacket looks long to me. Also, the arms look very fitted while the portions over the body look very puffed out. It's like the arms and the rest of the jacket are different sizes; the arms being a M while the rest of the jacket is a XXL. That could just be me, though.

Something doesn't look right about it (besides the zip) You can't see practically any of the shirt and it looks to be so long it covers his butt, I'm not sure the jacket is that long it covers Indy's butt, does it ?
It’s possible with the initial instructions that the zipper function and the jacket close she was forced to make too much material to achieve that. I agree the jacket covers up the shirt too much and I would say like the shirt, the pockets are a touch oversized here too.

I think the body of the jacket should be brought in just a tad so the shirt is more exposed, also, I’d agree about the pockets, just a touch smaller, and last; the length. The jacket is a tiny bit long, I think that in the frontal shot, if the jacket was shortened to right about where that zipper in the left ends, it’d look better maybe. All in all, this set is coming out beautifully, glad to be a part of this! Thanks

I agree with all that has been said - a little less length, a little less width in the torso (to expose more of the shirt - when Indy does zip the jacket up, it is pretty tight across his middle), and I would also agree that the sleeves maybe need to be a little bit “looser” on the arms, and perhaps even a tiny bit longer, so they cover the backs of his hands (so that when we scrunch up and wrinkle the sleeves they won’t look too short).

Sometimes its good to go back to the source.

I'm not sure the jacket is too long as it is the material might just be too stiff. Unfortunately a whole generation of collectors have gotten used to the short 'bomber style' jacket people have been making incorrectly for years.

Again, evidence...

I think the jacket will shorten up a bit once the jacket is properly wrinkled and weathered up. Perhaps the figure needs a bit more butt.

But if you guys all agree that the jacket should be shortened, then that's the majority decision of course. I suppose a tiny bit wouldn't hurt.

But the real question is: is this the right material after all for the jacket?

I asked her to shorten it a bit but not to much. Had to edit the photos and paint where the length should be. I will also mention the pockets and try to get them to be smaller. Overall it's alot of work to be done on the jacket

Could you post the image with the new length you highlighted?

I posted a picture on Sideshow with where I think the length should be but the image is too large to post here.

After taking a harder look at it, I made some suggestive marks where it could be improved... I see Luis has likely already done this now.

And yeah, too much material is the red area here...

I have. Only at the back i took a little more off. I stated that the back of the jacket seem should end where the back pockets end so it should still cover the back pockets.

Also the back should be widen a bit because it curves at the middle, it should be straight like in the films.

Also, I don't think its too late to consider a soft more pliable material. Certainly these fixes would be good for any blueprint for the jacket. So this proto is very useful... but perhaps it is an indication that the material we all selected based solely on color was perhaps too thick.

Have you already asked Iris if there was a similar option that is just a much more soft and pliable?

If not, it just means this jacket may take more 'working in' so to speak to really hang right so, for example, the pockets don't lay flat like they are now (smaller or not).

Yeah the material is looking pretty thick there. I could probably live with everything else if the leather at least looked thinner and more to scale.

Because this looks like it's going to be an absolute pain to futz and wrinkle properly.

I think it's just the proportion she is using to much and also the jacket already has the cotton lining inside. Hopefully with more work and changes it will be fine. I will double check with the thickness of the jacket.

I don't think the jacket is a lot too long but definitely a bit too long, if it comes up just a little it would probably be fine .
Also across the chest I too agree it seems like the sleeves are a M and the body of the jacket is an XL, that was a good description. Need to get the balance right between the jacket and how much shirt is exposed. I would say too that zip should go asap, it's throwing off the whole balance of the jacket for mine right now.

Enjoying the progress. I like the suggestions Wor-gar has made. I think if those the suggestions are heeded, the current material will be fine to be honest. At least, based on what I've seen so far. It looks a lot like a brand new Wested (which is good). It's getting there, and she's definitely headed in the right direction. Can't wait to see more.

Keep it up Iris! Luis, please let her know we all really like the time and effort she's putting into this.

Will do. This set will be one of her best yet. Also the zipper will be changed only right now she is keeping it on to work on the jacket more. But once it's complete all other sets will have the black zippers.
