From what I understand the left ear is a remnant of the Stan Winston hood that was used in the film mostly when the mask was on. The face you see when the mask comes off has the disfigured ear.

Interesting... never knew that. Any chance you can post a pic of the head on a body; I think you did a WIP like that earlier, but curious how the final head looks on one. And I assume you've got a mask in the works as well?

Those lines in the mask are where it broke into several pieces several times and I had to repair it :/
