I think a different paint job with a bit more attention to detail in a few areas will really make the sculpt shine, at least I hope.

the JNIX sculpt achieves the expression the hot toys was going for WAY better especially with the eyes and eyebrows, instead of just blank face open mouth. To me, that is where this one shines in comparison.

Jnix is always one of the best and brightest, but It doesn’t beat the part 2 head, and I’m not sure how much the part 1 Head so I believe it’s a pass as well.

I’d love to see Jnix revisit it from scratch, not sure if that’s in the cards with this but I still believe with another attempt he can make a knock out sculpt

Yeah, I'm just not seeing the better likeness than the HT version. I see more MJ in HT than Jnix but it's all subjective. Not enough for me to drop the extra cash when I could almost buy a second complete Part 2 figure with the cost of the (IMO) flawed Jnix sculpt.

This is true. Jnix sculpt emotes with the entire face, HT original sculpt does so with the mouth alone - very unnatural.

I showed all 3 sculpts (including BTTF2 to friends who are casual movie fans at best) and jnix wins out unanimously in accuracy.

As a proud owner of Jnix’s Obi-Wan & Indy, I regretfully have to pass on this sculpt. I too feel like it’s a definite improvement over the HT BTTF 1 sculpt, but still looks a bit off and lacks that typical “Jnix Homerun” feel. If Jnix ever comes back to this sculpt and reworks it, etc...I would definitely give it a second look!

also paid for one unpainted, I agree it's not a 100% this one but still a lot better then hot toys v1 and HT v2 head just doesn't fit on the first movie version imo, altough it's atm the best Marty sculpt likeness wise.

Noone is denying that. The question is if it is such a hughe improvement that it is worth the costs to upgrade.

I do actually wear glasses and it has absolutely no impact on the fact that I (opinion) find the HT to be the better likeness. Jnix appears more as a caricature or cartoonish while I feel HT captures MJ albeit at a much older stage than he was during BTTF. I'd rather have MJ than his cartoon double.

Also thinking the paintwork on this is hiding some of the likeness (so I'm curious how it looks with another pj). But unpainted it looks pretty damn good
